Liow, who is here with the Prime Minister, said India held the edge in the bid to redevelop the 83km Port Klang-Seremban line.

Under the project estimated at between RM4bil and RM6bil, tracks for freight will be built to bypass KL Sentral, where most of the country’s rail traffic converges to create a bottleneck.

“This will de-congest the heart of the Klang Valley, with cargo going direct to Port Klang.

“We will also halve the KTM Komuter frequency to 3.5 minutes,’’ said Liow, who held talks with India’s Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu here on Friday.

It will be too much hassle to load and unload for a short distance like this.

If the existing cargo traffic to Port Klang is already using train (through Klang VAlley), it will not cause any congestion.

That won't happen, as the purpose of this track is to allow cargo trains to travel between Port Klang and the south, without passing through busy KTM Komuter section.

If this track built, cargo trains from the south like from Tanjung Pelepas can just travel to Port Klang using this bypass track.

India also have quite an intensive rail network but most are old and in need of replacement

Hopefully this gets completed soon.

Took ETS from north and when I reach Rawang, the tracks are awful AF.

I believe with this and the mrt 3, if we can confirm both, the puzzle is nearly complete
we can hope for a reliable ktm, with massive mrt/lrt network.

My opinion.......

Still need dedicated route for ETS, so that can do hourly runs to the Padang Besar as well as JB.

And if possible, introduce 140 km/h Komuter service with few stops plus toilet, so that Seremban in just 40 minutes is achievable.

India already did EDTP from Seremban to Gemas. Gov already gave china for gemas to jb so may be to counter the impression that gov is too pro china ,they will give this bypass project to india.
