read head/lens only different in the reliability and usability, it doesn affect the sound quality...

24bit DAC? lolz, there so much player with 24bit DAC<1k....but does it sound nicer than other player at the same price? not really....

IMO, when it comes to mp3, i think sound quality isnt really something that you would prioritize, instead durability and longevity should be the issue. Those dirt cheap USB players out there differ compared to branded ones in terms of reliability. So lets say, Brothers USB player RM150, Sony USB player, RM400. The Brothers might last u few months while the Sony might last you years. So in end, paying less now could cause u to pay more in the long term.

But if you care about SQ, CD should be the way. Anyway, DAC is one factor, but lots of other electronic components factor into the overall soundquality, including the mosfets, caps, etc. So, if plugged in into reputable speakers, the sound quality can differ quite alot (between branded and capalang ones)

Heck, IIRC, pioneer's (to some, it is branded) SQ isnt as good as stuff like alpine and eclipse. It can be said the same for Brothers vs Pioneers tongue.gif

Anyway, thats what i think ^^

I've been using Brother's MP3 USB HU (not sure what model no) for quite a wihle now. Sound quality is quite good, even on average speakers. No hassle when it comes to reading my USB drive. The only complaint I have about this HU is the Random mode is fixed to go at always a certain order. Track 9 >> Track 20 >>Track... Not a big deal to me though, just a bit annoying at times.

I suggest u to spend more on better and branded player since all ur ICE stuffs are branded and not cheap things, make it balance lo.. tongue.gif

But if u really wan the Brothers USB player, also not bad, as long as u have good amp, good speaker/woofer and pre-amp(u had it all) and it is sufficient to produce good SQ. Tried Brothers USB player before, but used 2 weeks i sold it and changed to used alpine mp3/wma player(no USB) because i dont feel the Brothers player good in product quality. But the SQ for Brothers player is better than average i would say. icon_rolleyes.gif

When I was searching around for a player which suited by requirements the only one that had it all is a Dr. something capalang brand HU.

It can use sd card, usb and cd.

It can play CD/DVD/VCD/MP3/WAV/WMV/MP4/etc.

Only 499 drool.gif

Branded player like Pioneer, Kenwood, etc do not even have a DVD HU with USB sad.gif
