Go to the Wincert site here http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=485
Under the Readme FAQ section, look for the link for the file Regsidebar.rar. CLick and run the file.

I had the same problem too.

thanks j slade, ur reply was a very very informative one..... notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

edit: I just thought of this question, asked at other thread before sometime back but no response cry.gif , anyway, can we use yahoo widgets (formerly known as konfabulator) without installing the yahoo widget programme at the first place drool.gif ? I mean would (yahoo) widgets integrate with (window) widgets without anything need to be installed cool.gif ?

Well, I'm running both the windows sidebar AND Yahoo widgets on my desktop with no problems whatsoever.
Have a look at my screenshot, the windows sidebar are the two columns on the right, whereas the yahoo widget which is running is the TV Guide.
So no worries, but you do need to install the yahoo widget engine separately.

bro, thanks for ur reply but I think I didnt make my question clear here blink.gif ...or perhaps I didnt quite get the part where I bolded above... doh.gif  smile.gif

my question is rather on whether those widgets from yahoo and gadgets from windows will integrate with windows vista's gadget engine without installing yahoo widget programme icon_question.gif ? as far as I know and not mistaken so far, yahoo ones are with .widget extention while windows ones are with .gadget...we know both widgets and gadgets are same thing and works in a similar ways just that they come from 2 different companies of brands... notworthy.gif

sorry, I'm running them both independently.
As far as I know, Yahoo widgets can't integrate into Windows Sidebar and vice versa, unless of course someone creates an alternative version of the widget/gadget in question.
So yup, you have to install both Yahoo Widget Engine and Windows Sidebar...for the time being, I guess.

i install the original vista sidebar.....but i found that many sidebar gadgets cant use~
how can i use the slide picture.....vista clock....and many....

Ok here's the deal. The installation of the sidebar is not as straightforward as the TS makes it out to be (no offence J-Slade icon_rolleyes.gif ). I encountered numerous problems before finally getting it to work correctly.

Firstly go thru the Read Me FAQ in this link http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=485

It should solve the vista clock problem

Those with the weather gadget problem where it keeps displaying "getting data", go here http://www.joejoe.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=3536

Do trawl around the 2 forums mentioned above for solutions.

Good luck

It's actually a gadget bundled with the Vista Sidebar. Comes in single and dual core flavours.

Added on April 25, 2007, 12:34 amHey J-Slade can you be more specific as to which weather gadget you're using?
Coz my iWeather gadget isn't as big as yours.
Is it Accuweather or Weatherbug or what?

thanks

It is the standard Microsoft Weather gadget (essentially the same as the iWeather gadget).
You need to UNDOCK the gadget from the Sidebar (ie. drag it away from the Sidebar) in order to get the detailed (larger) display.
This is true for many of the Sidebar gadgets.

Cheers, man. thanks for the tip biggrin.gif

Try this http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1442

It works for me, just follow the instructions in the FAQ. It's actually an update on J-Slade's instructions on the first page, much more simpler.
