Anyone got experience with coin deposit machine?

I got plenty of coins sitting around for quite some time.

- Will they charge for counting and processing the coins?
- And which bank have this service?

Usually bank charge u... Go exchange with grocery store or nasi lemak seller...

Ambank - The one at my area has a self service coin counter machine. It seems to auto deposit to your bank account. I never use it before though, so i dunno if there are charges for it or not. or how is the process like.

Aeon 1 Utama - They have a coin counter machine at Aeon GF, near the customer service. You put in all the coins and it will auto calculate for you. In return they will give you back the exact amount in Aeon voucher. I used this one before. no charges. Only use this if you sure you will be using the vouchers to shop

Tried hongleong bank before, money directly deposited to ur account (if u got account with them), else there will be some charge.

just a suggestion, can try exchange at kedai makan for paper notes. i did mine at economy rice shop, and if you want to do so better go to the kedai makan where the aunty/uncle owner have always seen your face.

usually stores will be happy to get these coins from you. no need queue up at bank.

I deposit at ambank and maybank , no charges. It credit into the account directly.

i went to maybank hq @ menara maybank before..
once deposited..bring slip to counter..bank in to my acc.
not all maybank have coin dep machine.

i save a lot on it... 1 try changed it with maybank.. but have to ask at counter lah

machine is free but most of the time its broken

go pump station eateries

or jusco can change to jusco voucher

i also got alot coins .. that day count until RM250 gave up ...
so now every weekend i buy nasi lemak if RM5 i will coins for RM2 .. duno when only can clear off ...
summore its super heavy... zzzzzzz

Went to pj state maybank today to change coins
Depositing coins to the machine is quite fast, but then you still have to take a number and wait to give the slip and deposit form at the counter
Another thing is that this can only be done during business hours

free of charge & self service..
changed about rm500 plus of coins.

I used the maybank coin deposit machine at maybank twice. Before I deposit, I will count the amount, but using the machine usually lower amount than I count.
Not sure if I wrongly count or what.
But quite fast and easy.

cimb have coin deposit machine at certain branch. but, need to look for selangor location because all of the location in KL, the machine either broken or not turned on.

they will deposit that 100 to your account 1 or 2 days later

Which bank branch in KL/Cheras/PJ still have coin machine function ? Coz can't wait the counter to calculate.. using my lunch time going

1. go to Maybank HQ, there's coin deposit machine there (sometimes it break)
2. print slip out, take queue number and deposit to your account

Jusco have similar thing but most shut off already.
If you can find one just do the same as Maybank Coin Deposit Machine

I give to PB bank and ask them deposit to my account. Took 3 working days.

biggest problem now is u have to go really early to make deposits at any coin deposit machine in a populated area. always full even by 11.45am!!!

Tried for below branches but their coin deposit machine is not accessible during weekend.

CIMB, BU8, Bandar Utama.

8 march 2025 (saturday )- didnt do any appointment, go subang parade around 2pm, the staff is friendly. Help count the coin with the coin machine, but she reject some old looking / unusable coin , then i have to open MyPay app to do all the admin work while she teach me, the whole process took 20 minute depending how much coin u have , told me 3 - 4 day working day to see the amount in the bank

10 March 2025 to 13 March 2025 - didnt see the amount bank in yet, so i sent email enquire at 13 March 2025 when the amount will bank in, the email reply assured that they will follow up because it is under process of bank pending approval

14 March 2025 ( friday ) - finally see the amount at around 7pm ish.

Time estimation : 6 days

experience : 4.5/5 , okay normal

advice : recommend to do appointment

2 years ago i still got collection coins as saving habit. But now no more as the machine are hard to source.
I either go cashless now, no note and coins on myself, and i dont transact people who dont take digital transfer.

Last time i stay at kampong so i kira baik baik pack into a bag write the number to mini market aunty.
They are willing to have it.
