If unifi lite price is attractive, I think it will have quite a no of users will move to that plan especially if they do not need such high speed.

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Apr 23 2017, 01:15 PM) UniFI Lite RM149 has the voice call 20 included. Base Price=RM99 + HyppTV RM30 + Voice 20 RM 20 =RM149 That's really cheap for budget user.Because for normal usage, 10Mbps is actually quite good enough. QUOTE(alien3d @ Apr 23 2017, 02:25 PM) to me.. a 1 small hotel enough for 100 mbps if everage.. hehe.. but nowdays people that's why, even a business can have Internet bandwidth than consumer nowadays.1 people 1 cellphone/mobile phone 1 tab 1 apple watch/android watch 1 laptop /pc 1pc -> 5 device a full house 5 people with 5 gadget -> dam a lot so 10 mbps is enough unless everybody same times watching 4k youtube, download torrent 4k , gamers.. For me, i need constant internet without interruption.. 5 mbps is okay for me and no need phone call or hyppo timess.. If i have a lot of times okay loh for normal user, who just purely doing web surfing or streaming for full HD video, 5 to 10Mbps is more than sufficient even it is shared. for heavy user, who are downloading or streaming for 4k video, 30Mbps plan and above is perfect for them. in the end, it is not the no of users matter, but what most users do. |

QUOTE(HariszKilz @ Apr 25 2017, 12:42 AM) I think that is their marketing tactic.Same goes to Unifi Advance 30Mbps promotion last year la..First they said the price RM179 is valid until 31 December 2016..And then, they extend the promo until 28 Feb..Then 30 April 2017.They still want you to subscribe the price as they are targetting new customers. So I think this UniFi Lite package price will remain the same as long as they are new customers that are demanding fast Internet connection.. I think it depends on their target, once hit, maybe they stop offering. Since they keep on renewing the offer, it means that they have not met the target yet. |

QUOTE(MGM @ Apr 25 2017, 08:28 PM) I personally dun like diGi too but if one has no unifi at home, it is indeed an alternative since it is only rm80.I was stucked with streamyx 4Mbps for 2.5 years so I could feel the pain for and most importantly it is no where cheaper than fibre. Price I had paid was rm140 every month. Even maxis 10Mbps plan is rm139 only. Now I am on rm179 unifi 30Mbps. Soon will be upgraded to 50Mbps for the same price. QUOTE(totally_skint @ May 1 2017, 06:12 PM) Pity the agents. I think Internet is something that ppl cannot live without nowadays, so no matter the price. Minimally almost all household will have a plan from TM. So to TM, in terms of profit, it should not be any issues. They work on commission. Stay out in the sun the whole day - no customer - no money. And all because TM priced their services out of people's affordability level. I wonder how many of these agents themselves subscribe to the Unifi service they are selling? And for those who are unfortunately in an area that only has streamyx, given such low bandwidth, if there is unifi available, ppl will certainly go for it because comparing bandwidth vs price, unifi wins down still. |

QUOTE(wkn @ May 12 2017, 04:58 PM) my area is port full. so how to ask technician to open port for me? got coverage also useless unless tm install more ports. to add port is something not going to happen so fast unless there are numerous requests from the same specific area of users requested together. Else they dun normally add ports. Each street there will be boxes that are shared specific units near the box, typically one box can support 8 sign ups. If tm tells u that ur area is full, it actually refers to box where they pull cable from to ur house for connectivity. |

QUOTE(wkn @ May 12 2017, 07:23 PM) is that so? well, there's a little green box right behind my house and if that's what you are talking about, then how can there be no ports for me? did somebody steal the port that was supposed to be allocated to my house or what?! yup that's the box, like I said one box is supposed to used by 8 sign up. No only for ur row, also the row of houses opposite. If there are already more than 8 houses (typical case). This certainly can happen. Even for the same row, it can be certain houses got port but certain houses do not. Nothing to be surprised. the ports are not reserved and they are shared. A lot of ppl have unifi coverage but no ports nothing to be surprised about. As TM does not have enough ports for all. And not to forget they share infra with maxis. Certain ports can only be used by maxis. So there are cases unifi no more ports, but one asks maxis there may be ports available. Whether got ports or not is also not what u said count. If Tm point said no port it just simply means no port nothing to argue about. Most importantly, to add ports are not something that TM will do for u also. Unless there are demand and more than enough ppl indiciated interest then they may do but chances are Low. If u hope for ur Neighbours cancel the unifi sometime later and u happen to manage to grab it this hope maybe greater. |
