UniFi Lite is from the goverment's SUBB Project. (Sub Urban BroadBand). If you have fiber, you're under HSBB (High Speed Broadband)
So I guess it is like this, HSBB for prime urban area with high demand for hi speed internet. For areas with less demand, they will upgrade ADSL to VDSL and offer UniFi Lite under SUBB initiative.
And for places with even lesser demand, they will just continue with Streamyx. But I believe long term they will upgrade everyone to VDSL.

QUOTE(JY. @ Apr 10 2017, 08:45 PM) Ive asked TM live chat cause i planned to downgrade my 30mbps to this and their reply was to pay RM200 downgrade fees or FOC if extend another 2 years contract. They didn't mention any other T&C though. I don't mind the contract. Will definitely downgrade if that is it. Currently on UniFi 50 after the free upgrade from 30

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Apr 10 2017, 10:39 PM) But RM179 for 50Mbps is a great deal. Mine is RM199. So if UniFi Lite is cheap enough I might go for it to save some budget. 10 is good enough

Anybody managed to sign up yet? TM is completely unprepared for this. Somebody leaked the info and details out before everybody is briefed. Even the replies from their CS are inconsistent

I talked to a friend of mine who is in TM, she confirmed that not all places with fiber (HSBB) will get UniFi Lite as they wanna push their Advance 30/50. Right now they are in the midst of determining which fiber areas to offer Lite. I asked about my place, she said they have yet to decide on mine. My guess, if a place has high Advance 30/50 subscribers, they won't offer Lite there.

Just curious, those with fiber (HSBB), if you really want 10Mbps,why not go for Maxis Fiber? It's cheaper and they dont have the ridiculous rulings about availability. And as long as UniFi is available, Maxis Fiber should be available too

Anybody from Bintulu? I asked TM Point here, they say all fiber areas here will not be eligible for Lite. Only those upgraded to VDSL will be eligible.

QUOTE(MGM @ Apr 30 2017, 11:00 AM) Heard that nowadays TM does not use FIBER TERMINATION BOX n cable is connected directly to FIBRE WALLSOCKET inside d house, True? I think u can use the STB for the hypptv even with Unifi Lite. Mine installed a year ago. Fiber straight from the FDP on pole into my BTU/ONU. I think depends on the installer
