QUOTE(faizdtk @ May 17 2017, 02:09 PM) Can try to do speedtest on local server (eg: telekom malaysia berhad) and via lan connection? It seems that unifi lite vdsl are having quite bad ping. Maybe dsl path is set to interveave. My streamyx 8mb ping are much more lower than that. Usually around 25-30ms only on local server. |

QUOTE(MGM @ May 17 2017, 12:56 PM) Well plan ahead. Yup haha, actually did all the rj45 cat6 + 5e cabling + faceplate myself also so nt sure whether still need their free cable. When they install they can just put the fiber together with the ethernet cables in the white casing. Save them a lot of time. BTW, has anyone done their installation (fiber, not VDSL)? Wanna ask whether u are provided with the Fiber Termination Box (FTB) outside the house? I heard that some of the installer no longer provide FTB anymore? They just pull the fiber cable directly into the house from the pole and to the BTU? |

Black-color Fiber pulled from pole to outside wall where they coiled the fiber for a few rounds(claimed for spare, SOP, but ugly), drilled a hole and on the otherside of the hole the fiber ended on the Fiber Wall socket(FWS), then from FWS a white-color softer fiber is pulled n connected to the BTU.BTW, has anyone done their installation (fiber, not VDSL)? Wow, would the coil of cable be unsightly outside the house? In my taman i usually see the installer coil the cable on the pole below the white fiber termination point. have u requested FTB from the installer? TM trying to cut cost now hmmm... it would be difficult if cable breaks and need repair. |

Oh, so UNIFI Lite is using fiber cable lah, not copper cable as people claimed ? Then in future can upgrade to 30mbps or 50 mbps lah ? |

All the installation guides mention abt Entry Wall Box / Fiber Termination Box(FTB), but installer said no more using those. Yes the coil of black fiber is unsightly. |

Can some one please post pictures of what type of boxes and cables I can expect in a typical Unifi set up?
From outdoors to indoors. Thanks. |

Depends on ur location and the building u are in. Highrise->mostly copper Landed-> see whether ur location is covered under HSBB or SUBB. Should be no problem for future upgrade. If within contract period I'm not sure. |

Yes the coil of black fiber is unsightly. oh, will be much of a headache in the future for cable rework. I will try to get mine installed with FTB and see how installer says. They should coil the cable inside the house and hide them behind the desk/cabinet. |
