I reset my network settings and the WiFi calling option showed up after that.
But now after I enabled WiFi calling, it still doesn't show "DiGi Wifi Calling" in my carrier name... but that might be because I'm roaming. Maybe DiGi doesn't allow use while roaming? Umobile allowed it because I used WiFi calling on this exact phone in the exact same location...

I'm on a 6s+ with VoLTE active. Decided to try talking to DiGi CS over their Live Chat function... They said the feature isn't enabled yet... I said they should probably check what press releases they sent out yesterday. Then I tried again... asking about WiFi calling and what information they had and linked a couple of the articles from yesterday and today... and got this... Everything should be working... Correct bundle 28.3, Vo-LTE enabled. EDIT: Ignore the VPN. WiFi calling doesn't show up whether the VPN is enabled or no - I just tried it out to see if the IP that the data is routed through is a factor. I have mentioned multiple times that I think the issue may be that I'm roaming, but I cannot get any confirmation that this is the issue from DiGi customer service since as far as DiGi Customer Service is concerned, WiFi calling is still not "officially" available and will provide no support. I've used WiFi Calling before when I had a umobile SIM, which is why I know it "can" work overseas (and with this exact same phone and exact same WiFi AP and exact same location), but I don't know if the limitation is from the DiGi side at the moment or if it's an actual issue with my setup. Yes, WiFi Calling is already enabled. I have a feeling that WiFi calling while roaming may be limited by the carrier (DiGi) or it may not be set up yet on their side. There isn't really much reason to limit VoWiFi when roaming since DiGi themselves aren't doing any exchanges with other carriers so it doesn't cost them money. Would be much easier if DiGi CS could give a straight answer Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(prosibu @ Jun 7 2017, 03:17 PM) So finally get the wifi calling option? How u manage to get it? I've had the option since I got the carrier update. The problem isn't getting the WiFi Calling option... the problem is actually getting the "DiGi WiFi Calling" to appear as the carrier and getting the call routed over WiFi instead of the GSM/3G/4G network.

QUOTE(prosibu @ Jun 7 2017, 03:57 PM) Oooo Then still acceptable... U never know how digi launch the wifi calling for local use or worldwide usage... Telco can block the vowifi based on the wifi ip address... This is why I was experimenting with a few different VPNs. If there is a limitation it probably isn't identified by WiFi IP. QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Jun 7 2017, 04:14 PM) May I know which iPhone you're using at the moment? 6s+... I already mentioned earlier in the thread.

I've tried a few different types of VPN - IPSec, L2TP, OpenVPN - so far nothing works. From what I've read, you need to make sure your SIM card doesn't register on a roaming network if you want to use WiFi Calling overseas - put your phone in airplane mode before leaving Malaysia, enable WiFi, remain in airplane mode while overseas. Which sounds like a massive pain in the ass...

I already completely disabled location services... doesn't make a difference. I think as soon as your SIM registers on a foreign network, software location services becomes a secondary checking mechanism and not the primary anyway.

QUOTE In all cases, the handset scans for GSM cells when it first turns on, to determine its location area. This allows the carrier to route the call to the nearest GANC, set the correct rate plan, and comply with existing roaming agreements. Sounds like this is the logic behind turning on airplane mode before leaving the country of SIM origin if you want to use WiFi calling overseas (in the case where the SIM operator doesn't allow overseas use).

If you want problem free WiFi Calling, subscribe to any umobile plan (postpaid or prepaid). They all support problem free roaming WiFi Calling. I previously had a umobile P98 plan purely for roaming within ASEAN... WiFi Calling worked perfectly, 30GB of quota for ASEAN usage. Data backpack has been discontinued though, so it's not as good as it used to be... which is why I've cancelled the line and I'm not relying on DiGi Roam Like Home.

What's the absolute lowest it's possible to spend per month on prepaid? Tried using gadget SIM to share data with my main line, but it's RM20/month and it removes the data rollover from my main line. Only plan to use it for GPS so it shouldn't eat much data.
