Nowadays those bad guys are smart... they rent a room / house and then monitor the daily activities of the potential / targeted units.  Once familiar with it, they will choose the right timing to make a fortune...

most of the time as they monitor cctv and know how many ppl in the hse...when the hse is empty n etc....my friend's apartment, same day broke into 6 apartments in 3 different towers and each tower have different access cards...the opposite apartment door peek eye hole was sealed wth u-hu glue so that the opposite tenant cannot see the break in and the noise ....

By the way, I don't think there is privacy issue in this area, unless your opposite neighbour put a camera on his balcony to peep you...

If not due to design concept, the ugly gate can be easily modified with additional timber wood structure on the steel structure, probably with black / grey / white paint for straits era color pattern. But since timber wood is expensive, so I did not propose this idea to them, waiting for them to propose the conceptual.

In fact, the wrought gate design are more suitable for the concept of Straits Era since the perimeter fencing is also using this type of gate. I really did not understand how they overlook the most important element in a house. I think our neighbor, Ecohxxx gate is not as cheapo as the current gate though
