Good day everyone. I've been thinking of buying a new CKD Polo 1.6, may I know any problems with the car the owners have faced? I know it has the conventional 6 Speed Auto instead of DSG transmission. But just want some feedback from current owners about reliability. Thanks 👍

I assume you are talking about the Polo hatchback. My family has the 1.6 Polo Sedan which has the same engine and gearbox. one year on, so far the car has been quite reliable (other than a faulty fuel gauge), if a bit pricey to service.

You mean the promo now at RM69,888?

I have been a fan of polo hatchback and golf especially

I think the polo is based on the Audi A1 platform?

Like the interior quality and space. Boot space is decent. A good supermini hatchback nonetheless

But I'll prefer the 1.2T version. The power is just so much better. Heard the 1.6L is noisy

If it's the Polo Hatchback, I dislike the fact that it is stripped down in terms of safety.

2 airbags with no ESC.

Yes talking about the hatchback. So how pricy is it to service when compared to a Vios or City or even a Mazda 2?

Yes right the promo right now seems like a good deal. Im not going for a 1.2T because it has a DSG gesrbox which has a problematic mechatronic part if I'm not mistaken.

My house mia was RM550+ for the first 15k km/12 months. Next service at 30k km/24 months was told to expect RM700-800 due to spark plug replacement.

Spark plugs are RM200++. Don't ask me why so expensive, it's even more expensive than it's TSI siblings.

Yes I have been taking a look at the City and Vios, but just wanted something a bit more fun to drive, so even considering a second hand Proton Inspira or even a Lancer.

Wow that is insanely costly for just Spark Plugs. That too for a locally assembled car.

Oh btw its every 15k km/12 months service once. Not 5k once and another 10k once. Its about the same price for other cars to service twice within 15k km or a year. I only pay a visit to service centre like once in a year.
