Bro, you Check YouTube. S8+ vs S7edge.
Seems like S8+ Size just a bit taller compare to s7e
Width almost the same.
*
After read below user dimension, it is similar as iPhone 7 Plus not S7 Edge.

QUOTE(big1 @ Apr 5 2017, 06:18 AM)
S8
148.9 x 68.1 x 8mm
152g

S8+
159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1mm
173g
s7 edge
150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7mm
157g

S7 (non edge)
142.4 x 69.6 x 7.9mm
152g

Thanks for the dimension.

it is not that really long i manage to play with s8+ during my visit at vodafone, westfield.. the height is just like the iphone 7 plus, but it really comfortable at my hand. i thought i'm holding the galaxy s8 until the lady told me the set is actually s8+.

But still prefer the S8..  cool2.gif

Battery life comparison of S8+ w S7e, Pixel, ip7+
Looks good however just read with some salt. All of us use our phone differently
Looks like the 10nm chip does make a difference

For s7edge. If we look at the price. It did not factor in our currency depreciation. ( 30%)

Such a bargain.

Coming from a Mate 8, I would say that the performance is not too inferior to the S7 Edge in real life usage unless you're into heavy gaming, although the benchmark scores are vastly different. However the difference in camera quality is night and day. Also, EMUI is not for everyone. biggrin.gif

I hate EMUI. Gave up on it after using it for less than a day. laugh.gif

My friend bought S7e at rm500 discount few days back. The center straight away gave him discount without need of so called using Samsung app. The shop is only Samsung official authorised retail at my place

Practically all comparisons I had read so far point to Exynos as more superior . You can Google such comparisons yourself. However it isn't significant to be of any concern

Weaker? I think that's what the benchmark shows. Since P10 had FHD, I don't think it matters too much. Besides the most important thing is that the sustained performance of A73 will give more room to its GPU to not hit thermal throttle when compared to A72.

I see.

To be honest, in real life usage we won't be able to tell much. At least wait another 6 months to a year, when the software finally catch up in utilizing the resources, then we can tell.

QUOTE(aaron1717 @ Apr 5 2017, 09:48 AM)
but kirin 960 already in mate 9 which already selling the same or even lower price than S7E.... so i think the problem here is that p10 didn't go for newer processor... or they have too early launch their new processor before year 2017..... all the difference seems eliminated after they launched the mate 9 biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
Mate 9 has FHD but better processor as andrekua2 said. S7E has 1440p AMOLED and IP68. Camera I think both are comparable and subjective.
Then there are tiny details like earphone jack output quality, high quality mic recording etc. I've never used Huawei phone before so I can't comment on those. But these are the weak parts of OnePlus 3 actually.

The S7E has been holding its prices for quites some time. No thanks to the failure of Note 7. Its time for it to go down as the S8 is around the corner.

rm3199 sounds reasonable

so comparing to Sony camp, rumors are that XZ Premium will priced at rm3399-3499, which aims at S8+, they have a junior flagship which is XZs RRP priced at rm2899, but using 2016's SoC Snapdragon 820 ohmy.gif

Xperia XZP/XZs unique selling point is just the slow-mo camera

now S8/S8+ needs to prove that it can achieve better in imaging department despite lower MP

Im afraid the xperia line up will be of no contest to the S8/S8+. Compare their sales volume and you will have the answer there. laugh.gif Even Sony's so called best camera phone in the XZ cant compare to the S7E.

Xperia has never been a competitor to S series... haha.... although Sony have everything in their own factory.... screen manufacturer, laptop manufacturer, camera manufacturer... but in the end they just dont know how to combine their strong point together and penetrate the market share.... and as usual... they are now neither here or there in the smartphone market... still dare to sell at premium price like samsung despite the spec actually quite limited....

as a consumer i don't pay much attention to the sales figures

rather it is what kind of things i can get by paying ~rm3100 and no more

so with this budget, S8 and XZs comes into picture

which in this point, S8 wins hands down

currently using Z5P which launched at rm3099 (same launch RRP as S6 dual edge in 2015) , the problem with Sony now is the XZs seems like a rip off version of flagship due to its exorbitant pricing, while using leftover chips from 2016.

Actually the price of s7e should stay. Because the forex depreciates 30%

Now if the s8 s8+ factor in the forex. Then the gap of s8+ and s7e is big.

Now they need to see if it is interested enough to lure s7e owner to upgrade.

Not to mention medicore improvenments and lacklustre performance. To sum it up, Sony just dont make the cut.

Sales figure is very important.

There must be a reason for a consumer product not doing well.

And realistically. I do not want a cold product. That is hard to dispose/ resell or get support( repair/accessories).

They already sold their laptop division years ago though.

XZ Premium have flagship specs, but the design is getting old now and doesn't go near the S8 in that regard.

That 960fps video though..

S8 no more using Sony sensor liao

Sony makes money not through its mobile division, but from components like camera sensors, entertainment business, and Playstation business

likewise, Samsung also generates revenue by manufacturing chips and screens for iPhone, memory cards, memory, and so on

edit: Apple has stopped using Samsung as their chipmaker for upcoming ipongs, but the screen will source from Samsung's AMOLED panels
