Anyone has any idea how to prevent flood water from coming into the house from the sliding glass door?
Water level is about < 0.5 inch but the work required to clean up the house is tiresome.

easiest is put either a new taller track on the floor. orrrr. install like a row of bricks in front of it. so you have to step over then at least protected even if water go to 8-10cm. if its common occurance, the brick way probably better.

brick and cement. should kaotim. can tile also i guess depending on your flooring.

Best is add a scupper drain with grating in front of the sliding gate to channel away the water.

@hutazi, this would be one of the solutions but might not looks good especially on the front entrance.
Some of my neighbours did like this because they had just a swing door (more practical for a small area where the water can enters), but with a sliding glass doors (3 panels glass doors is a headache).

@enduser/@enriquelee, when the whole taman is submerge in water, with proper drainage on my house itself it will not make any difference because the water level rose higher than the drain.

Sliding door is not water proof, the only thing that connect the sliding door and railing is the wheels, and usually only have 2 set of wheels, the rest are just empty space.

If you want to prevent water coming in from the bottom sliding door meaning the bottom part need to be air tight, and that is not possible.

I seen people putting wood to prevent water going into the house from the door / sliding door. What they do is securing the wood with plasticine and this is very manual work.
