QUOTE(nd_4ever @ Sep 27 2012, 01:05 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(jemmi @ Sep 28 2012, 08:38 AM) Continental Sport Contact 5 among the best & superb performance tyre in the world but too expensive & among the fastest finish treadwear. CSC 5 can beat the best Michelin Super Sport & the ultimate Bridgestone Potenza S001 but on par with Goodyear Asymmetric 2 (comfort & long lasting tyre at medium price - new Porche 911(350HP) OEM tyre). thats CSC5P. a class higher than CSC5. CSC5P is on par with Michelin PSS.http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2011-...ummer-Tyres.htm QUOTE(thefryingfox @ Oct 8 2012, 11:09 PM) i have a budget of 550 bucks per tire and currently looking for 225/45/17. Any recommendation? as2 and ps3 is on the soft side.I drive hard most of the time and current options are; 1) Gyear Assy 2 2) Michelin PS3 3) Conti CSC 5 4) Hankook S1 Evo Looking at the 4 options above, i am looking for 1) Stiff sidewall excellent for cornering 2) Best Dry Grip 3) Not so fussy about wet grip as i usually do 100 or less on wet 4) looking at using it for 25k or more KM ( the one that last longest is my quick win). CSC5 is RM8xx per piece. (not RM550) |

QUOTE(anti-LAx2 @ Oct 21 2012, 09:16 PM) Hi guys, PS3 and F1A2 is around RM500-600 for that size if im not wrong.Any other recommendation for performance tires as good as or better than Nexen N8000? I have been on the N8000 for quite some time, now wanna get new tires. I don't mind sticking with the nexen but just wanna listen to other recommendations (maybe better wear and rolling resistance?). What other tires can i get for 215/45/17, budget around RM360/piece can go up if worth it. FYI, I got quoted RM300 for N8000. How much for the PS3, F1 Asy2, Cint P7, etc? Just wanna check how much more exp to consider. =D Thanks |

QUOTE(nd_4ever @ Oct 22 2012, 09:56 AM) Neuton brand is a subsidiary under Yokohama itself & yes, their HQ is based in S'pore. haha good that youre driving mk5gti as well. stock or modded? should be modded for that speed.Added on October 22, 2012, 10:03 am Hi phas3r, yup..... I'm a loyal supporter for Continental brand of tires as it gave me superb expectation for all my rides all this while. Managed to clocked super high speed with my previous set of CSC3 on my beloved VW MK 5 GTi Caractere-tuned back in year 2010. Wonderful & great experience indeed...... which the speed is more than 28X km/h. Muahahahaha........ In fact, I'm now running in my set of CSC5 on my rides. I'll share my review on this set of tires soon! im looking for the tire that is the most stable for 2xxkm/h speed! for some reason, i dont know if its my tire or other components, since a few months ago my 160+ km/h experience is getting less surefooted than before |

QUOTE(nd_4ever @ Oct 23 2012, 10:30 AM) If my instinct & prediction is right, u are also one of the proud owner of a MK5 GTi too? Mine have been remapped to Stage 2 REVO with K04 turbo kit setup plus some secret recipe tunings. Hehehehe...... managed to whacked the highest top speed previously at 29x km/h which made my balls went up close to my throat once. Hahahahaha....... yes i have been driving one since march 09, it was stock till june this year lol........U should give your ride a try with the new CSC5 to justify its performance according to your driving style. anyways K04 means stage 3 right? why did you say stage 2? are you still driving one? which one is your ride? which one is the best for high speed stability? for my case long story, i installed 4 new F1A2 on may. felt weird at high speed. felt like being pushed by the wind easily, more floaty. compared previous PS3 and before that CSC2......went to workshop change absorbers until rm2.8k also same so in finding the culprit what i did » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « now front CSC5 50% with rear F1A2 80%. in my house now got 1x CSC5 50%, 1x CSC5 50% with bulge 2x F1A2 80+% taking up spaces QUOTE(deity01 @ Oct 24 2012, 01:35 PM) modded GTIs are known to go for that speed, on the speedo la.. gps somewhat lower |

QUOTE(nd_4ever @ Oct 25 2012, 09:36 AM) K04 turbine kit set is not stage 3 my friend, it's the bigger turbo setup compared to the original turbo setup. Stage 3 REVO is whereby I remapped the ECU for my ride. I sold my GTi last year for my initial plan to get a MK5 R32 but dropped the idea as got other commitments to go ahead with. butt feel..... more surefooted? suspension should be stock standard? altho i doubt it since youre stage 3 already haha. brakes as well. What I've experienced for super high speed tires, it's still Continental Sport Contact 3 which fairs slightly better butt feel compared to CSC5. Added on October 25, 2012, 9:43 am As phas3r stated, remapped & tuned Golf GTis are known to achieve that kind of speed & some even passed 300 km/h mark if your balls is big enough to go with. That's why we as these GTi owners will only go for the ultra high performance tires that we can afford most to be fitted onto the rides. what do u think of 17 vs 18" in terms of stability ? youre right. no compromise when it comes to tires. spent too much money on it already and yet it looks stock theres a guy with stage3+ mk5 300hp with only nexen n8000 tires. but the rest modded to the max la. |

QUOTE(nd_4ever @ Oct 31 2012, 03:13 PM) Yes, more surefooted based on my butt feel. My MK5 GTi's suspension is not stock for sure since I've upgraded to a bigger turbo kit & braking system. I fitted a set of KW adjustable shocks for my ride that time. A little correction, my previous MK5 GTi is running with Stage 2 REVO remap & NOT stage 3. Eh you are running csc5 now? On what ride ?Well, honestly for me...... I would prefer 17" for my GTi but originally the car came with 18" Caractere CW1 wheels which I was itchy got it swapped with 19" CW1 then after 6 months, a set of BBS. I just couldn't understand some owners who modded every single thing on their ride's performance but shod a set of cheapo tires onto it. Simply a stupid suicide move to do so. I still would like to get myself a MK5 R32, check this unit out which I found in Mudah.my: http://www.mudah.my/Volkswagen+Golf+A+R32-15104760.htm Y dont u use 17 then? Cant fit them bbk's? Haha.. Using this kind of car.. Money cant stop coming out.. Mine stage 1 and got poisoned for brakes, downpipe etc.. R32.. Very rare car and very beautiful sound.. But it is much slower than mapped gtis.. Heavy too.. Wont go fast unless u put turbo or sc |
