QUOTE(pjno @ Feb 8 2010, 03:07 PM) hye guys i'm new here...need some guidance from you... GSD3 la... cz i'm looking for my replacement of my tyre soon only 1 pair... the size is 205/45/16 currenly using T1R front and hankook V12 rear ... maybe u all can suggest me other brand...with gudprice plan to use T1r but the price increasing than before which is 390 (before 350including bal n alingn) 1.ST115 falken 2.gudyear eagle GSD3 3.any brand giv gud perf in wet cond but they are reasonable with the grip that they able to provide... QUOTE(cchin8888 @ Feb 8 2010, 05:24 PM) Hi All, well if you wan comfort... try 195/55 R15, 185/60 R15 is weird size for new CT and Vios... Currently my car tyre almost "botak" I plan to change 4 tyres 1 shot. Currently I am using GY NCT5 185/55/15 but the tyre shop uncle recommend me change to bridgestone potenza 185/60/15. Is it ok change to 185/60/15? or do I need follow my original size? My car is Honda City Vtec with original RIM. NCT5 u should throw away around 50% already since it's wet grip sucks... try Falken 912 with 195/55 R15 comfort performance... value for $$$ if not mistaken around RM190 nia... if you wan High Performance tire let us know again... but do mention Comfort, Handling and Noise... rank them urselves so that we know which is ur priority... |

i'm using a brand new tire now (less than 500km)
Dunlop Formula D01 (205/50/16) Dry performance = hard braking and hard cornering not that good, got sound already compare to my previous 40% thread left Kumho Ecsta Supra. Wet performance = not yet done, but expect worse since dry already 'out'. Verdict = Good for average joe family car, high threadwear 420 and cheap (slightly less RM 250) Personal experience = More or less about the same performance with the Hankook Ventus HRII Added on February 19, 2010, 8:30 am QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Jan 25 2010, 11:46 AM) I'm using the GSD3 F1 Germany made too last time. totally agreed the wet performance is great but super noisy later on. any other tire that has more or less the same charateristics like the F1 but quiet? This post has been edited by eddyann: Feb 19 2010, 08:30 AM |

D01 for normal driving only. imagine, very easy to get 'schreeet' tire sound on shiny cement underground parking lot when doing slow cornering, this not the case for Ecsta Supra AA ratedGSD3 F1 is noisy... still thinking whether to try or not after this Hankook V12 @cchin8888 if you wanna stick back to 185/55 R15 try Michelin PP2... |

haha... try PP2, V12, S Drive or T1R... they will give you the sound also but never loose traction...
but now willing to try out Toyo DRB if it is nice and comfort... haha |

Hi, I'm thinking to upgrade my tyre..
currently using GY NCT5 195/60R15. is it adviseable to upgrade to 205/50R16? the grip is improve abit(actually i'm satisfy with my NCT5 grip). but the tyre price is very very huge difference. Michelin Premacy LC 15 = RM 280 16 = RM 410 Another thing.... if compare Premacy LC vs XM1, which one is better? i prefer more quiet tyre but the shop guys told me XM1 have better grip than PLC? As he said during raining, the PLC grip is very bad and worst than NCT5 |

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Jan 25 2010, 11:29 AM) I don't want to be an english teacher but what you want is a tyre that is BAD in hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is the effect that you DO NOT want. So what you want is anti-hydroplaning qualities in a tyre. what hv u experience same with me which i using hankook V8RS, even in heavy rain still can speed up until 160km/h n it start to hydroplaning... really nice tyre, but currently hard to find dunno why...PP2 is nice but compared to the Goodyear F1 GSD3 that I used to have, it is still slightly nervous in watery situations. I was driving to and back from Ipoh over the weekend and the tyre didn't feel too good in heavy rain as compared to the GSD3. It started lifting at about 120-130km/h in heavy rain, something that the GSD3 had no problems until about 160km/h. One thing I did appreciate is the quietness of the tyre as compared to the super noisy F1s. |

V8rs is good??? haha out dated already lo... now V12 Evo... but my experience is, V12 evo is not as good in hydroplaning as PP2... not yet try GSD3 might try at next change.... but am not sure about the quietness that bro sleepwalker said... GSD3 is Quiet... as directional tires is not that quiet... my Vios Tire Change history... GY NCT5 (Stock) > Michelin PP2 > Michelin PP2 > Michelin PP2 > Hankook V12... soon duno... from 2nd set of PP2 i share with my SEG with similar 195/55 R15... so after Vios season the tire until like 50% or when my SEG need to change, i swap the tire over to SEG and buy new tires for Vios... i think 195/55 R15 better comfort... but if you want better handling then 50 series will be better, both of the tires can fit ur ride...
