Thanks... Will definitely check out V12 Evo 2... I wonder why Falken have such good reviews in Tyrereview UK.. but i also see some bad reviews on Falken in Forum from Msia and Spore.. Wonder if it is different tyres in different region although same tyre model.. Now that you mentioned, I think V12 Evo 2 have good review in Tyrereview UK and a more consistent good review in forum from Msia and Spore as well... Thanks..

The good Falken is their top of the line FK510 which is not yet available in MY market. The ZE914 is just a mid-range tire, not as good at that level either. You see those tests done by magazines whether from 2013 to the latest in 2017, this ZE914 mostly only ends up on the bottom half of the list, not anywhere on the upper half and that is also only comparison between the mid range tires, not yet top class performance tires. So yeah, not so good.

Hi,
Finally decided to go with V12 Evo2.. Got it from a seller near Kemuning area for around RM360 (all in).. Can feel the tyres are more quiet and softer compare to old Falken.. So far so good.. Thanks.

Thanks

Hi, need your opinion, currently using advan fleva for 40k km.everything is enough for me except this tyre lack rim protection.

Will change new tyre soon.prefer good rim protection n good aquaplanning n wet grip. Previosly use maxxis ipro, rim protection is great but really noisy.Quoted rm300 for v12e2 n f1 gsd5 310. On 204 45 17. Also prefer tyre that more softer sidewall.. which one better choice?

If you want more rim protection, V12E2 does not have much while the F1D5 has much better rims protection. However in terms of overall performance the V12E2 is better. Both has pretty comfortable sidewall.

Upgrade 1 step from MC5 means go UHP tire category which is a wise decision. What size do you need though?

Then you only have these choices:

- Michelin PS4: the best choice available and consequently the most expensive, very well balanced for excellent dry & wet performance.

- Michelin PS3: the older version of PS4, still also pretty good and well balanced performance, especially in aquaplaning resistance (to go thru puddles). Compared to PS4 though it's already behind especially in dry grip but maybe a bit more comfortable coz sidewall slightly softer than PS4.

- Goodyear F1D5: performs very close to the PS3, also well balanced for both dry & wet.

- Bridgestone RE003: more focused towards dry grip with lesser wet performance compared to the above tires. This tire also will wear off the soonest coz tread wear rating is only 220 compared to the others at 300-320.

- Yokohama Advan Fleva V701: specs & tread pattern look good like the F1D5 but so far still unconvincing as there are many mixed reviews of this tire, some say ok but some not so good, even got some report of sidewall issue/bursting. In tests in Europe, it failed miserably! laugh.gif That's why I put this one as the last in the list.

Well UHP tires are normally a bit noisier than mid range tires due to larger tread blocks and stickier compound. Actually got some UHP tires which are pretty silent like the Hankook V12 Evo 2 and Goodyear F1A2/3 but they are not available for your size.

Nope, MC6 is not available for your size. CPC6 might have your size but somehow Continental Malaysia has not bring in yet, probably coz they substitute by the MC6. sad.gif Other UHP tires from Continental is the CSC5/6 series which are only available 17' & 19' upwards.

I think your best bet is the PS3/4. If price difference is minimal then just go with PS4.

My car requires size of 235 45 18. I prefer the Hankook v12 as it got good reviews on net. However it doesn’t have my size of 235.
Currently on factory given ps3, ride it around 89k km. List options are ps4 (a bit expensive), ps3, conti mc6 (brand new model) might have a try on mc6, cause it cheaper around 200+ per donut.
Is mc6 is recommended?

Hi, right now im using stock tires Silverstone (195/55/r15), im deciding between Potenza re003 (RM230) and Hankook v12 evo2 (RM190). I travel Kedah-Johor every 3 months. Which would be a better choice?
