It was one of the earliest (could be the first) 3D MMORPG in Asia or South Korea in those days like year 2000 or so... even b4 RO or Lineage was a thing, and it's still alive.

I played this for couple of years when I was high school back then; was one of the top players in the server in those days... played with some Germans, Thais, Americans, some mates from internet cafe, and some irl friends. Quit after high school. Years later on, met a irl friend, we talked about it. He brought me into the game again... private server. Private server was a new thing to me back then. Quit again. Planning to play it again.....

Old games like Dragon Raja, PT, RO, Rose Online, etc., strive on private server. PT is very hot in Brazil. Apparently, Latin America is into low spec old games... which I learnt from my research.

The most famous and leading p.servers which have been operating for many years are:

RealmPT (down atm) has more updates than all other servers. Renamed to Wartale. This is the leading private server, I believe.

I've been told that RealmPT/Wartale has 5th tier skill... all others only have 4th tiers skill. I also found out that they have new classes released in the official KR server in 2013... which is a news to me.

From the sources and materials that I'd read, I found out that there is a war going on behind the scene... classic corporate espionage, crushing your opponents and stuff.
That reminds me of Rose Online last time.

An ex-mod from RealmPT, backstabbed RealmPT and created FortressPT (FPT). He was the one who did the hacking on RealmPT... a thief in the house lol.

UniquePT or http://www.pristontale.net/ (same server) is run by Brazilian(s). The official Brazilian and Korean servers ganged up to bring down RealmPT, because RealmPT is doing a great job with the game, with more updates, far ahead than other servers. You see, RealmPT has all the tools to make it a better game than all others... deemed as a 'threat'.

RealmPT will be back soon. RealmPT is run by a European dude, if I recall.

Yup. I was on 56k too. When the bill arrived, it was so expensive, and only then I get a streamyx. I think it was my first 3D. Helbreath was my first 2.5D. The concept of 'playing with another real players' blew my mind too lol.

Stick to RPT bcoz it's from EU, more friendly English speaking environment. The other leading p.server is from Brazil and that would be intimidating for non-English speakers.

You do not need a country man to play with you. You can always make new friends from the internet world. I played with people from Thailand, Germany, US, Canada, and Malaysia too, of course, in those good old days. We were the first batch of elites. I still remember some of their names.

Remember the #1 and #2 forums, ptprophecy.tk and ptnation in early 2000?

Yup, the flying bird or eagle on the login screen. And yup, Ricarten was small until they expanded it. All those private shops lag the area. You had to use ptprophecy.tk to trade high end eqs.
