PETALING JAYA, Feb 7 — The companies operating in Selangor’s first IC Design Park have raised a collective RM2.6 billion in investment and funding, with the state looking to expand the hub to its second phase, said Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) chief executive Yong Kai Ping.

Yong said the first IC Design Park, located in Puchong, reached full capacity within seven months since its August 7 launch last year.

“We are now looking to expand into a second IC Design Park, working together with Cyberview at Cyberjaya.

“With six anchor tenants and seven ecosystem partners on board, we are building a world-class hub to position Malaysia at the forefront of semiconductor innovation,” he said in his welcome speech at Sidec’s Chinese New Year celebration at Sheraton Hotel Petaling Jaya here last night.

“The impact of slower growth on household income means there will be limited wage increases and job creation, particularly in export-oriented and investment-driven sectors, potentially affecting household purchasing power

Hyper Inflation if u choose to live a Lifestyle at Parkcity with all the nice foods n services provided . Rental rates jumped 50% maybe .

If u are T80 plus, do not need to talk about dropping of purchasing powers, just spend

QUOTE(icemanfx @ May 3 2025, 01:50 PM)
Contemporary history show, raising minimum wages will increase inflation rate. Real purchasing power will returned to as before.
Purchasing power and prc flooding local market with cheap product is different matters.
As a economic student, purchasing power is always part of my study.

Ya kah ...good for u

U never heard of Imported Inflation ?

a) What if it is imported deflation then, through cheaper imports from China.

b) China is facing deflation coz most people do not want to spend their money , hence no high demands for goods etc

c) Take Spore for example , with higher pays , they can choose to spend their money in Malaysia. Or do shopping through Internet.

Spore Restaurant businesses are quite bad overall .

Well, I am from Certified Financial Planner school.

There are always alternatives or solutions available for most people if they choose to live a comfortable livestyle vs a A High end one , in order to maintain a reasonble Lifestyle with same purchasing power .

1) Well , Malaysians are well known for wearing simple T shirts , shorts and slippers . So it is acceptable to most of us. No need to upgrade this kind of lifestyle just with higher pays to project a higher image

2) For those travel more on MRT LRT to work ( with rm 50) , no need to buy a brand new SUV just coz of a payrise . Or maybe buy a good second hand car will do ..

3) Even with payrise, no need to buy a property at Parkcity ...Many claim CBJ properties are dirt cheap ..hence where got drop in purchasing power if u buy one at CBJ ?

4) Even with payrise, U can stop drink Coffees at Starbucks, Go for Zul maybe

5) Malaysia family is known to have many cars at home, why buy more coz of pay increase ?

6) Malaysians tend to over eat ...does not mean need to eat more expensive foods with a payrise

7) Cheap petrol to travel around , but many choose to travel overseas few times a year

8) Do some home cooking too

9} Save more , instead of spending away . Lets compounding effect works for u like EPF.

Conclusion > Inflation in a way is Men created ...with extra high demands from payrise, But u save more and spend less , not much inflation effect

QUOTE(icemanfx @ May 3 2025, 03:30 PM)
Deflation could be more detrimental economically than inflation.

Malaysian is known for their sloppy dress code, is considered uncultured.

Financial planners = life insurance agent.

What one eat is how he was brought up. B40 find comfort in b40 food and don't appreciate t10 food.

PRC, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, etc petrol price is higher and their GDP growth is higher. Cheap petrol price actually made this country inefficient.

Actual inflation rate in this country in the last few decades is higher than most real income, hence real disposable income is lower.

Well , it is Kaisu culture , u are talking .

Most China Main Cities have negative 15 % growth ..

So overall GDP is still good ?

u add more water to it ?

Measures the Chinese Government Is Taking to Address the Economic Downturn (as of 2025)

Summary Table: Major Measures

Area Key Actions
Monetary Policy Lowered interest rates, RRR cuts, cheaper mortgages, more liquidity for banks
Property Sector Lower down payments, support for unfinished homes, convert excess supply to affordable units
Fiscal Policy Planned 2 trillion yuan in special bonds, increased government spending
Capital Markets Tools for stock market liquidity, support for company share buybacks
Consumption Stimulus Special Action Plan for boosting consumption, sector-specific support

Outlook

While these measures are among the most significant since the pandemic, analysts note that their effectiveness may be limited by structural challenges-such as weak credit demand, local government debt, and a fragile real estate sector. The government’s focus is on stabilization

Well , if u are able to stop the channels of corruptions...perhaps petrol subsidy is not a big issue

Guys, think it over

1) Is it justiable for all businesses to increase their products by 10%, when Govt staff get 10% pay increase
2) for those years Govt staff did not get a pay increase, but traders keep increase their prices, why ?

So inflation is man created
