10x ?

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is poised to become the largest data centre (DC) hub in the region with about four gigawatt (GW) of inventories projected to come on stream over the next four to five years, said RHB Research.

According to DC Byte, more than 1.0GW of supply is expected to come on stream over the next two years versus the current installed capacity of under 400 megawatts (MW).

About 3.0GW of capacity is in the developmental stages, and will be added progressively over the next three to five years.

RHB Research said potential DC inventory by 2028 would be 10 times more than what it took the industry to build over the last two decades.

Signs of property melt down ?

GEORGE TOWN: More than RM100bil in properties were sold in Malaysia in the first half of this year, prompting the government to double its initial target.

Housing and Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming said while the ministry aimed to see RM100bil in property sales this year, the National Property Information Centre recorded RM100.5bil between January and June itself.

He said if the trend continued, Malaysia may achieve RM200bil in property sales by the end of this year.

How many employees work in a data center?

While a single data center doesn't usually directly employ many — some can operate with 15 crew members or less during day shifts — the types of jobs vary from technical to more general roles like security guards.

“The spillover effects from data centres can be significant and multifaceted. Although DCs are primarily focused on data storage and processing, it enhances broader socio-economic activities and development,” notes the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) secretary-general Datuk Hairil Yahri Yaacob in a reply to StarBiz 7.

Keegan Ong, tax partner at PwC Malaysia, notes that the connection between electricity usage of DCs and a nation’s GDP is intricate and multi-dimensional.

He believes the presence of DCs can boost sectors such as software development and telecommunications, and will drive innovation and improve overall productivity.

KPMG in Malaysia head of technology consulting Alvin Gan notes the economic benefits of Malaysia’s expanding DC industry is “undeniable”.

“The influx of capital investments not only bolsters local industries but also elevates Malaysia’s standing on the global stage, contributing to GDP growth through heightened productivity and the creation of more lucrative employment opportunities.”

Some people see DC as some kind of Traffic lights ...look very simple .

But , the spillover effects from data centres can be significant and multifaceted...

And for AI DC, our U need to get involved ...to produce the right people , do R & D and so on

Anyone involved in DC aware; during construction period, except building construction, most others are imported. During operation, only maintenance personnel are needed. In a typical DC, only about 20 people are needed for a 24 hours shift.
*
That simple ?

Why Google still need outsiders to support them ?

U need to outsource many other things to locals to do ..multifaceted...

DneX signed a ‘Google Cloud Partner Advantage’ commercial agreement with Google, authorising it to operate Google Distributed Cloud as a managed provider. DNeX said the agreement allows the company to resell Google’s cloud solutions

In addition to capturing the growing demand for cloud services in Malaysia, DNeX can also extend offerings such as data migration and system integration services

What about AI DC ?

Create more quality jobs ...n .less low end jobs

Malaysia is likely to transition to a high-income economy between 2024 and 2028, a reflection of the country’s economic transformation development trajectory over past decades. However, further reforms are required to successfully join the ranks of other leading and developed economies, according to a new World Bank report

somehow you are really out of touch lah

keep yapping nonsense hoping that your cyber investment can be sold at triple quad from your buying price

you know how bad job market right now or not?

"transition to a high-income economy between 2024 and 2028"

lulz dream on lah
*
a) I think u are the one who is out of touch...by simply attached an outdated utube video , then u want the whole world to accept what u claimed to be true . ..Or attack others who disagree with u ,

b) I do not invest in Cyberjaya property.....So yr accusation is totally baseless

c) How bad is job market ? Well , if someone demands for a high pay job, but people think he/she is not really qualifed for the job, then he/she should not blame others. BTW , China has more 50% unemployed graduates . Malaysia I think is much better.

d) Report is from World Bank , it is a vision for Malaysia ,but of course if rich GLC and banks refuse to pay their staff well, then no dreams lah. Or just end up like MAS , blaming Spore airlines for stealing their main teams.

Why Spore needs to steal manpower from Msia, when the unempoyment in Malaysia is so bad ? and our local Bosses say hard to get good people ?

I am interested to know where u get the 50% figure  of china grad unemployment from?
*
1) Graduates of universities and vocational and technical colleges accounted for 70% of the unemployed young in 2022 – up from 9% two decades ago.

3 As a percentage of the youth population, those graduates amounted to 47% in 2020.

https://www.theglobalist.com/china-united-s...%25%20in%202020.

BTW, China Govt banned those reports last year or so.

RM7,000 tax relief a boost for homeownership

KUALA LUMPUR: The government's announcement of tax relief of up to RM7,000 on housing loan interest payments is a proactive step to promote homeownership, said industry players.

Olive Tree Property Consultants chief executive officer Sr Samuel Tan described the announcement as a highlight of 2025 Budget (Belanjawan 2025).

BTW, do not take it as promotion of CBJ properties ...
