I'm looking for my next wallet to replace my current wallet (Braun Buffel) as after 2.5 years it starts to look deformed and skin peeling due to sweat/wear/tear.

Main priority would be durability, appearance comes in second.
(ONLY BELOW RM 500)

I'm looking at Bellroy currently but would like to have more feedback/suggestions
So far I can think of 10 brands only, so I'll just leave it here.

Ashland leather, Corter Leather, Onestar leather, Tanner Goods, Bexar Goods, Jmichael Leather, Guarded Goods , Saddleback Leather..These are a few brands that could probably last you a lifetime.

Bellroy is good but it gets deformed pretty quick depending on what you load in. It really moulds to the contents of your wallet because the leather is very thin.

Some excellent suggestions above, but with shipping might blow your budget. Support local craftsmen:

Most of them are made to order and not ready stock, so just ask them for what you want. Most likely they will be happy to make it for you.

Forgotten about it.

Attached pictures after I buy, and current condition.

Review:-
Quality - 8/10, abit too stiff due to thick leather and cards appears to bend when inside wallet (refer photo)
Material & durability - 8/10, Very thick & solid. So far no damages, except for the natural color changes due to wear & tear.
Craftsmanship - 9/10, but not exactly 100% symmetrical as this is done by handwork
Practicability - 7/10, hard to take out cash because it is very stiff. 4 months now easier to take out.
Price - RM180 (3 front card slot + 1 hidden card slot each side)

Overall - 8/10, can buy and try for something different. Only thing to concern is cannot fit too many cards or will bend more (refer to photo)

Thanks for the review man, really appreciate the effort.

Wow, the main 2 pieces are really thick! I'd say a bit more than 2mm each?

The cards bending a bit, I think is probably a side effect of the thickness of the leather plus because most people do T-slots for the pockets, it makes the center thicker than the edges. Because I can see that the card that is bending the most is in the bottom slot, where there are the most layers of leather underneath its center.

Oh and would just like to add that most mass-produced wallets will use some sort of fabric for the pockets to keep thickness down. Sometimes not even a full pocket but just a ribbon to keep the card from sliding all the way down.

Where the rest of the wallet is leather, this is usually the first part to fail.

Anyone have experience with minimalist wallets? Not money-clips or it's variants, but proper wallets that are super thin & meets the thread-starter's specs wink.gif
