I have never came across any 'fake ram' in my entire life. Never heard of any either.
But fake thumb drive is everywhere. LOL. The only situation where a ram is 'fake' is probably with 2nd hand ram modules where the original owner purposely take off the heatspreader and put it on some other cheapo ram and they don't even meet the rated specs. You could always check with cpu-z whether those rams are correct to spec or not. You can also scan the QR code, see if it tells anything. |

There are indeed fake RAM modules, I didn't think there would be such thing as fake RAM at first too but I was wrong.
Source: Was unlucky and bought a pair of new 'Kingston' Value RAM myself from some seller on LYN (was on Lazada also). Before I tested it, my new built PC kept blue screening in games. So I ran memtest and there were over 100 errors in first minute. The label looked fishy, so I emailed Kingston with a photo of the actual unit (Kingston Taiwan, forget Malaysia distro) to check the S/N and they said the it is fake/counterfeit. Seller refunded me after I confronted him lol, at first he sent me another sticks but it was also the same problem Just buy from a very reputable or authorized seller if you are worried.
