A friend of Mr. CKJ helped us get hold of this Xiaomi Xiaofang from China recently.

blurjoey I have few question to ask.

1. Can we record on micro sdcard manually time or can record 24hours like you did timelapse ? how does the recording works ?

2. What sdcard you use for recording ?

3. Does it works well with MI apps when viewing the camera / delay and etc when you are not at home ? or at outside ? It doesn't record audio ?

4. How well or sensitive on the motion detection ? did you tested it ?

5. How does it work on night vision and audio output ?

I saw a lot on youtube but there is a lot of different when comes to malaysia ori/ non ori set , internet speed and etc.

1. The timelapse can record anytime by pressing a button or by a preset schedule of sunrise or sunset. There is a record button on the Mi Home which you press to start/recording a video. Same goes for photos.
2. Tested with Samsung Evo Plus 64GB
3. Yes, working fine with the Mi Home app. All is recorded into the microSD card including sound. The video is quite fast when I'm watching from outside using mobile data as the bitrate of the videos is quite small. Only time is can't watch the timelapse video as it recommended to watch on same wifi network.
4. Yes, will send out notification on the Mi Home app when motion is detected. Just like the Yi Home cam. If not mistaken, it detected motion when there was lightning when at night before. The motion detection can set low, medium or high sensitivity in the Mi Home app.
5. Night vision will auto switch on when it's dark. The speaker is so so. But what to expect from a rm100+- home cam?

Make sure buy from trusted seller sure guarantee original. Anyway, XiaoFang is only for the China market.

Yeah but for less than rm100... Don't think they'll put a network port on it for POE...

It's around rm80-100 in lazada, gemfive, 11street, aliexpress, etc... Buy directly in China, it's about rm60-70 only...

Latest firmware got option to select specific time for a motion detection alarm alert?

The price of each region is different, as far as I know, this price of Xiaofang is the best here. Other related products are also doing concessions...

I see many post using powerbank, we can directly plug on wall plug right?

This IP Camera is very portable and is a small box shaped camera, you can pop it up anywhere you want it to be, as long as you setup the camera with your Mi Home App and you are good to go.

The price is $22.99 now, its still very favorable .

You can use as many units as you want... The Mijia app can support...

i like it. where can i get one?

-can this be view thru desktop windows pc?
-how is the performance if the day is having a bright sunlight, can the camera capture normally and clearly?
-if using powerbank as the power source for operation 24/7, how long does the powerbank last before it shuts down completely?

1-Only thru Mi Home app
2-Decent video quality. Not the greatest though.
3-Haven't test this out yet but should depend on how big capacity the powerbank used?

I'm having problem with this camera. I don't know exactly why, but my unit sometimes goes offline, and I didn't notice it because no warning whatsoever.

Also, the camera will go offline after each Mi Home app update, so I have to reconfigure/ reconnect it. Sometimes can reconnect, sometimes I have to reset ot and reconfigure it back.

Anyone suffers from this problem?

Seems to be a MiHome app issue.

If I am on office wifi, I am unable to view. Any way I can circumvent whatever restriction put by the office wifi?

If your office got a firewall blocking then cannot view

my camera also have same prob...did u manage to solve it?

No. Not really. Somebody told me that his Xiaofang camera also have that same problem. Now, he changed and use Mijia 360 model, and no problem anymore. Is it because of hardware issue?
