U guys clean ur stuff how often?
My Old Great Mazinger SOC already has some of the rubber parts losing color & become sticky icky. I polished them before, so i imagine if i didn't it would be worse. |

Last time i noob use that White Bottle brand Autogym polisher, but should have used Wax since polisher also removes some coating, but i did that many years ago so maybe no more protection but most rubber parts surely will get sticky after time. but before wax/polish use slightly damped cloth to clean them if dusty.
Now i use cheap Wax like Kit, Wax only apply a coating, but sometimes it will also rub off some layers, so test it small spot 1st and don't rub too hard and watch out for gaps coz too much wax it stuck in the gap u see white lines hard to wipe off when become hard, so wipe on other flat surface 1st before doing areas with gaps. use microfiber clothes if possible. But i tell u la to be honest, toys will deteorate after time, unless you keep it sealed off in vacuum bags. Temperature will cause metal to expand/contract, this will cause the paint to come off after some time. Rubbers will become sticky/sweat/melt, Chrome parts will fade after time, some might even turn to rust. In the end really depend on the environment, you see toy shop their toys on display always very bad shape becoz subject to intese lighting, lack of dusting off & exposed to environment despite they are in air conditioned areas. So in short if you really want to collect stuffs, doesn't matter toys/paintings/wine/antiques, make sure you have the environment to do so, mainly Temperature/Humidity/Dust/Insect/Mold/Fungus Control. These are hard to do without expensive air conditioning & cabinets thanks to Malaysia weather. if not i suggest cutting down the collection to avoid scratching your heads in another 5-10 years time. Would love to get myself one of that SOC Gaogaigar but I cannot bother to start a new line of gokin. Im contend with those GGG figures from the SRC line.
That aside, anyone bought the SENTINEL Dino Getter 1? How is it? Im still wondering if i should grab it. |
