Hi guys, I'm planning to get the MacBook Air but don't know much about Macbooks (am a fan of iPhone/iPads).

I'm aware the current MacBook air in market is Air7, if anyone could advise if I should wait for the new model? or maybe the Air7's just launched?

Also, if I'm planning to get a few (maybe 4-5 units), are there any possibilities of me getting some discounts somewhere?

I don't think that there will be a refresh lineup for MBA.
Get a MB12" instead.

where did you read about Air7?

i doubt there will be any new MBA. the 13" macbook pro is pretty much a replacement already

sad to know if the MBA's being discontinued.

the MB's are 12" which appears to be a little too small for my liking...guess have to go with the MBP 13.3" then...

anyway when did the current MBP 13.3" launch?

I thought the same at first, the screen is the main drawback. However, after using it for a while, the 12" screen is quite ok for me.

Agreed. I've used the MacBook 12-inch Retina for a couple of months too, and I did not at any time feel that the screen was uncomfortably small.

We must remember that the MacBooks (and Pros) have a 16:10 screen ratio. So the amount of screen area which you are able to view on the MacBook 12-inch is actually very close to the amount of screen area which you can view on a standard 13-inch Windows laptop that has a typical 16:9 ratio.

Furthermore, the MacBook 12-inch's display is a beauty to behold in all its high-resolution Retina glory, beautiful contrast and eye-popping colours. It really is WAY better than whatever displays which are on the MacBook Air series.

The retina screen better than Air. The only drawback for MacBook was the only 1x USB Type-C port

very huge leap indeed. MBP for sure...hard to recommend the macbook with only one USB-C port...

For portable and you don't need so many port - MB

does MBA come with Microsoft Office?

No, unless it is part of some promotion by authorized reseller

I never gotten any promotion price when I got my ssd MacAir. I am surprise how good their own office is and can save easily into Ms Office format.

If not mistaken, Apple senior vice president said the 2016 MacBook Pro without touch bar is designed for MacBook Air users.

I'm sorry but why would anyone want to buy MBA? The only reason you're buying a macbook is for the retina display no? If not, might as well just buy a good performance Dell laptop?

If want something light, go for MacBook 12
If u want something good, go for MacBook Pro

Don't really see a market place for MacBook Air

as of this moment, i guess the air serves an entry level for macbooks, just like the old mcp 13 without retina for the pass few years
