Wanna hear something funny. My grandfather's house ha d alot of old stuff. One of the few was those old grandfather clock which u need to wind. Lasted I think 60 or 70 years d in the house. Some antiaue collector came and offer to buy him a brand new shiny battery clock so he exchanged. Therr was this green colour ceramic vase with dragon embossed on it. Made in china one. He bought when he was younger, I think 1913 or 1914, the fella bought for rm15. Gosh all the antiques he sold for cheap. Grrrr....i feel like the fella cheated him only

is the advertising slogan for Japanese brand "National" in the 1950s before changing their name to "Panasonic" in 2003.

Can you spot the advertisement here in Batu Road (now Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman) in 1959?

I can't find any advertisements in BM. Perhaps the language is not popular yet.

Long lasting is no longer an attractive selling point nowadays.

New technology coming out every few years. Especially more efficient and more energy savings.

Your old national fridge might still work for you today, but it's draining power like hell. Have you ever thought that changing to a new one, you can balik modal in one year?

Same goes for your old national air con.

Besides appliance quality. Just from the picture alone tells a lot about country unity and lifestyle of the past.

You get single signboards that has 3 languages on them. You don't get those now. You get mat salleh sounding shop names last time. You don't get those now. What you get are malay people with mat salleh sounding names. (How is that for evolution!?)
