FSS Platoon at NCO Exercise

Marhalim Abas May 12, 2017 Malaysian Army
SHAH ALAM: THE Army, specifically the Future Soldier System experimental platoon of the 12th Royal Malay Regiment (Mechanised) has conducted a training exercise synchronised with the Network Centric Operation (NCO) system.
The exercise is being conducted around Dungun and Kuantan, the favourite stomping ground of the 4th Mechanised Brigade, 12 RMR’s parent unit. Around 70 soldiers and officers are involved in the exercise.

Based on the Army’s Facebook post on the exercise, this was likely the first FSS Experimental Platoon exercise with the NCO. Indeed the Army dubbed the exercise as Network Centric Operation (NCO) Army Exercise 2017.

The NCO system was officialy inaugurated last year. Quoted below are parts of the post.

NCO Phase 1A became operational in Dec 2015 with the implementation of the X-Band satellite communication link. Under the NCO, the three services of the Armed Forces shared situational awareness and common operating picture using satelitte-based data link. It was hoped under the NCO, the three services will achieve self-synchronisation in operations.

At the moment, most of the NCO capability are mostly with the RMAF and RMN although some of the Army’s legacy system have also been integrated with the same system.

Among the legacy systems which had been NCO-enabled are the Army’s Grup Pertahanan Artileri Udara TRML-3D radar, Battery Control Post, Igla Vehicle Mounted Manpads, the Future Soldier System experimental platoon and ACV 300 command and control vehicle and the Land Rover Fixed for Radio.

The FSS experimental platoon was likely supported by the ACV300 Command and Control Vehicle which was fitted with the NCO system and with other NCO vehicles.

From the pictures, it is likely that exercise concentrated on getting the FSS Experimental Platoon to spear the other units not equipped with the NCO system.

QUOTE(Kojke @ May 15 2017, 10:28 AM)
CPM continued their struggle after independence because they didn't see any independence from colonialist. The socialists and any party who weren't alligned to British were barred from participating in the election. The election was designed to make umno/alliance (which was here to serve the British interest after "independence") the sole victor.

Whether it is a slap on the wrist or not, it was the negotiated outcome, fully documented in black and white and signed by participating parties. Unfortunately it is not honored by the Malaysia. CPM did not ask for any peace treaty, the Thai didn't ask for one. It is the sole initiative of Malaysia, and to be trashed by Malaysia after the other party honored it. This give Malaysia a very bad reputation. But this was not the first case. Mahathir tried to putar halim after sigining the water supply agreement with Singapore but the Singkie threatened to go to UN if Malaysia tried to be funny (Lee Kuan Yew was smart to registed the agreement with UN). Finally Malaysia backed down. CPM wasn't that lucky. They didn't exist anymore the moment they execute the agreement (disarmed, disbanded) and the ex-members have noone to turn to when Malaysia tore up the very agreement that Malaysia initiated willingly.

cool story bro.. cool2.gif cool2.gif

since when UN can decide who is right or wrong? only ICJ can do that.

Actually LKY who doing the putarhalim thing..the agreement was to supply water to singaporean (water use by sing people) but LKY sold most of the water to merchant vessel that stop at singkie port..
that is one of the reason mahathir ask to review back the price since singkie putar halim and make money from Malaysia's generosity..

btw CPM struggle is not for independence but following order from World communist org to turn Malaya to a communist state..

regards to peace treaty, the CPM who actually didn't honored the agreement...one of the agreement said that they must surrender all their weapons but they only give half of it..

Whether singkie will eventually turn to ICJ is another story. The agreement was registered with UN and LKY's threat were documented. Cool story or not doesn't matter. Malaysia reputation go down the drain is the real issue.
agreement is agreement and in the end of the day, still an agreement. you agreed, you signed, you fucked up, your problem. Malaysia case is exactly like kampung folks agree to sell their land at a very huge sum and happily partying until someone tell them they can actually make more. so they turn up at the buyers place with parang and buat kecoh and start telling cool story like how they have been conned.

Now this is as cool as the kampung folks who sold their land...

Like u said..it doesn't matter..CPM is the one who didn't honored the agreement..and that is a fact..

There's no such things as agreement registered with UN..any dispute both party need to bring their case to ICJ..
Malaysia didn't fucked up...true..agreement is agreement but since singkie breach the agreement malaysia have a right to review back the offer based on signed agreement..

where to find legacy hornet. even jordan is not going to sell theirs yet until their new planes arrived and fully operational and that could be a good 5,6 years from now.

those hornets from usn stocks are taking even heavier beatings than ours due to metal fatigue associated with operating from an AC. prolly should ask for lease from Typhoon T1 since RAF and luftwaffe had them in storage and even australia is considering to retire their typhoon as well. or go to france and take their credit line offer

how about kuwait's F18?
