QUOTE(mumbly297 @ Mar 27 2017, 12:51 PM) He is a politician who heads Mindef so more pull in more investment to country. For TUDM requirement now is twin engine gen 4.5 fighter. The WSO system start with USN F14 where WSO monitors the long range intercept radar armed with those phoenix missile. So its not just in attack configured plane. Why tudm insist on twin jet? Our neighbours all have a mix of twin and single jetTUDM found that this ease the burden of a lone pilot and also with fighters plane with multi role capability, the practise continue. Mig29 of Tudm was in superiority fighter role therefore they bought the single seats. High end twin jet like f15/sukhoi and mid range single engine f16/gripen |

Maybe skip the Typhoon/Rafale MRCA altogether. Get the Kuwaiti Hornets in good numbers
And when the Su30 and FA-18 need to be replaced, then go directly to fifth generation. By that time, the F-35 will be cheaper and there will be copies/variant (although not as good) like the KAI or TAI or even theā¦. HAL version (or maybe not!!) QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Apr 1 2017, 04:57 PM) If gonna go with commercial standards, take a slightly used ship ~5 years say, and mod it like Bunga Mas Lima... will probably work as well... its not like we are conducting opposed amphibious landing, its just a glorified transport ship/heli carrier temporary until we can get a really capable MRSS wasn't this ship sunkUS built theirs from scratch but it is quite possible to do from commercial ![]() Most famous example is UK's Atlantic Conveyor which could carry 4 Chinook and had 1 spotted on deck. Immense cargo capacity. ![]() |

Should RMAF get the Kuwait/Saudi f18 and then if depending on budget available get some super hornet instead of eurofighter/dassult Rafael
Su 30mkm (18) ?? Su 35 (??) F - 18 C/D (26) F - 18 E/F (18) Yes I'm just dreaming but what do you think? Russian + American = win? Make RMAF great again This post has been edited by Lumiaaa: Apr 1 2017, 07:13 PM |

QUOTE(DDG_Ross @ Apr 1 2017, 07:22 PM) Ok laa su35 maybe a bit far fetched since not many countries also getting su35 maybe tumpang more su30I think it's more sensible than adding another new model like dassult or eurofighter We already got f18 and su30 so increase the fleet of either one of them This post has been edited by Lumiaaa: Apr 1 2017, 07:28 PM |

QUOTE(mumbly297 @ Apr 1 2017, 10:05 PM) For TLDM getting the 2nd hand hornet will eat up their future budget. Its better to get new 18 rafale or typhoon. And if the like the hornet maritime striker ability just get another 18 Superbug. Not sure what is TUDM minimum effective fleet but having small number of fighter type each will weight down their maintenance operation. Something having more of same type is cheaper. Legacy hornet airframe will not last due to fatigue. It not just flying hours, no of G pull and year in service and exposure to enviroment do play apart. If rmaf insist on brand new fighterInstead of 18 rafale/typhoon, IMHO RMAF should get the superbug since they already have 8 legacy hornets in the fleet I hope mindef listen to RMAF choice. I think RMAF prefer superbug (someone on this forum mentioned before) 18 Su 30mkm 18 F 18 E/F + option for more if budget allows 8 F 18 D total 44 MRCA then we already got the Hawks for light attack |

QUOTE(Fat & Fluffy @ Apr 8 2017, 02:23 PM) Arson, bomb attacks rock southern Thailand how do they get these bombs so easily![]() Thailand's restive southern provinces were rocked by a wave of coordinated bomb blasts and arson yesterday, a day after the country enacted a new Constitution. The 23 incidents, including arson and five small bomb attacks, caused widespread blackouts in four southern provinces but no casualties were reported. Analysts said the attacks were likely meant to undermine the military. But they were divided on whether these were directly connected with the signing of a new charter that was overwhelmingly rejected by the three border provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat The fighting has claimed more than 6,500 lives since it escalated in 2004, according to independent monitoring group Deep South Watch. There is a possibility of more violence erupting with rebels asserting their independence against Bangkok, said Mr Kan Yuenyong, executive director of the Siam Intelligence Unit. ![]() But such moves will likely be contained by the military, which has become more powerful under the new Constitution signed by King Maha Vajiralongkorn on Thursday. "This may be related to the idea of Bangkok centralisation and governance. Overall, it's seen as trying to create resistance to Bangkok and test reactions on the ground. It's about ideology, psyche," Mr Kan said. He likened the situation in the south to simmering water that may spill over as the government has so far failed to make headway in negotiating with the rebels. The government struck a deal in February with Mara Patani, an umbrella group that claims to speak for the insurgents. But the deal was rejected by other separatists. Thailand's ethnic and religious separatist insurgency originated in 1948 in the Malay Pattani region that borders northern Malaysia. ![]() The separatist movement became increasingly violent from 2001 as local leaders demanded a level of autonomy from Thailand for the Pattani region. The Barisan Revolusi Nasional, a leading group in the insurgency, has been involved in suspected killings, arson and bomb attacks. Said Mr Kan: "We are all aware of the junta's propaganda to the public that their governance has been able to maintain peace and security. But if you look at the reality, that's not true at all."during the ratification last August. Several attacks also occurred in the southern province of Songkhla. The new Constitution will curb the power of lawmakers but boost the army's role in government, even after the junta led by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha steps down after expected polls late next year. "The whole idea is to humiliate the Thai security apparatus. Right now, their aim is to make the area ungovernable as much as possible," Mr Don Pathan, an analyst who writes on southern Thailand issues, told The Straits Times. This year alone has seen six violent incidents in the south killing 13 people, all happening last month. "The incidents are to create disturbances. They want to destroy the government's credibility and create fear among people," said Mr Pramote Prom-in, a spokesman for local security forces. The southern provinces have been rocked by violence for more than a decade as Malay Muslim rebels battle Thai troops for more autonomy from the Buddhist-majority state. If they can There could be some coming across the border to Malaysia What if Malaysia n terrorist do the same here (kudos to PDRM stopping potential attacks. Remember that Jedi Isis guy chaugh) This post has been edited by Lumiaaa: Apr 9 2017, 01:20 PM |
