Get the newer Acer Aspire1962WLMi better cause it has a 1.7G CPU and 128M ATI X700 GPU. X600=9700 in PCIe, X700=9800 in PCIe.

The best value for money is the Acer 1692WLMi and if you squeezed them hard enough you can get a 1G of ram FOC. By the way, 1692 comes eqquiped with ATI X700 128M graphic chip, it only the second to DELL 9300 series which has a optional for 6800go.
But the Acer has a very competitive price only at RM5388, don't forget this lappy comes with bluetooth, Wifi, IR, 15.4" crystall bright screen, dua layer super multi plus DVD, 4in1 card reader, 1.7G cpu. Who can come close to this spec at this price range?
By the way don't be fooled by brand name cause if you know how to dig the info from the chip/article code you can know that they are almost come from the same OEM/ODM.

Of course you can equip your laptop up to 2G, just ask them to install for you when you place the order that time, if money is not an issue. In fact i've equipped my Aspire1804WSMi and desktop with 1G ram each.

Acer has a 12months interest free installment plan and if you are a student you can have a special rebate of RM300. Their Aspire1691WLMi scored 9/10 in HWM, an gold award in April issue.

For those who are not quite sure about the performance of ATI X700 128M, please check it up at http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.cfm...leid=637&cid=10
Its way better than others card on the market now unless you can afford the all bulky DELL 9300 DTR with 6800go, so the best value of money now is still Acer Aspire 1691WLMi which employed ATI X700 GPU.

Try the Aspire1691WLMi.
-reliability? So far never hung up, may be still new. Will see in time.
-Huge memory? checked. 1G to offer if you look hard enough.
-good graphics? checked. ATI X700 128M. Good enough to pump up 50fps in DOOM3.
-light? Erm...ok lar. Around 2.5~3kg.
-fast processor? Enough lar. 1.6G Pentium M dothan core in Sonoma chipset. If you dare just overclock it to 2.0G. There are many successive rate in the forum.

and it only RM5388. In case you are a student, you can have another RM300 rebate.

Mostly those peoples are just hearsay, they don't even have the Acer notebook with them but they just simply quoted the comment listerned from others. And yes, the old Acer model did have a serious stability problem but definitely not for their newer release. The new generation Acer notabook are way better than their old counterpart and hugely improve in design, stability, presentation and performance.
Don't listern to them as they know nothing about Acer especially these newer model. Acer recently got the gold award from HWM with their Aspire1691 and another editor choice from http://www.trustedreviews.com/ for their 8104 model, and there are many positive feedback from http://notebookforums.com/.

In fact my Aspire 1804WSMi running KOTOR2 extensively for 7hours, never hung up or a single hiccup, and that it with everything setting on high.

For how long it will last i not sure cause i haven't really completely deplete the battery, but as a guideline, i have tested during my last meeting session which lasted 2hours, and yet it still have 40% juice left, so i guest 3+hours is possible. In fact in some forum there are others who claimed to last up to 3.5hrs.
You don't have to purchase online to entitle the rebate.

No, with some hands-on on running production system and demostration, and noting major issues on notepad.

I think the only option you have now is Dell 510m or I6000, with all the features you required in should be around RM3800, but only the GPU won't cut it for you as it only spot a X300.

As for Acer, there are only two option TravelMate 4151LCi and 4151NLCi, RM3900++ and RM3600++ respectively with on the different in harddisk capacity. But both also don't have the bluetooth and suport only wifi b and only with adequate GPU Intel Extreme 2 Graphics Technology and up to 64MB VRAM.
