I got a Compaq Presario 1500AP 2 yrs. old.. Wondering if now is a good time to upgrade to new one.

my compaq laptop now got

2.2Ghz Desktop P4
1GB RAM 266Mhz DDR
40GB 5400RPM HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

The DVD/CDRW drive kaput so using external Asus & got WiFi PC Card..

I was thinking to buy HP Pavilion zx5200.. damn chun

P4 3.06Ghz HT
512MB RAM 333Mhz DDR
80GB 5400RPM HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon 9500

Can get for 1100 UK pounds - 15% VAT probably around RM6500. Only thing got to upgrade to 1GB RAM & WiFi built in..

U guys think can tahan ah until longhorn come out in 2007?

Also, can i replace the 512MB 333Mhz RAM with my current 1GB 266Mhz RAM? BOleh ka? Or will I pay for trying to save cash?
