Hello everyone ! I am posting here out of desperation. I have a problem with my wedding day itinerary which I am unable to solve, mainly due to my inexperience with weddings, ignorance about traditions, and just being generally a male.

First of all, here is the background :

1) I am working overseas, and my fiancé is not from KL, but we are having the wedding in KL as the vast majority of my relatives are from there.

2) We are having the wedding on a Friday, which in retrospect , is a pretty stupid move as the due to Friday Prayers and work, the traffic will be total madness. But its way too late to change as some of our family and guess have booked tickets

3) Solemnisation and wedding dinner will happen at the same place. It begins at 5pm, at Ciao Ristorante, with the solemnisation process before proceeding to dinner

4) I will be staying with my relatives somewhere near Jalan Jelatek whilst my fiancé will be staying (with her family) in a service apartment near KLCC
Here is my initial plan.

- In the morning, around 8 am I head from my place to her place to 'collect the bride'. This is followed by the tea ceremony for her parents and family.
- Hopefully this will be done by 10 am (not sure if its realistic) <depends on whether bridesmaid did play games or stuff and no. of relatives at your fiance side.Expected within 11am>and  I would bring her to my place for the tea ceremony for my family members. I hope to get to my place by 11 am, to be the Friday Prayers traffic. We hope to finish by 1.00 to 1.30pm
-After this she would head back to her place (with the bridesmaid) to do her make up <usually the bride will make up at your place. So ask the make up artist to come to your place. No bride will head back to her house after ceremony. The boys will fetch the bridesmaids back to the apartment>and get ready for the wedding ceremony. With the traffic I am estimating 1 hour travel time ( I am unsure if this is optimistic or pessimistic )
- I'll will get dressed in my own place, and then head to the wedding venue, waiting for bride the to arrive at the aisle.<you both will need to head to wedding venue together. otherwise if any of u caught in the jam, then your solemnisation process will push backwards. And chaos happen. So, bride has to be make up and stuff at your place.>

Essentially my problem is that I think am trying to squeeze in too many things into one day AND make it for my wedding which begins at 5 pm. I am just not exactly sure how feasible this is, especially with the long travel times needed due to traffic. My fiancé thinks it is too hectic and tiring for her and she was hoping for a more relaxed and enjoyable wedding day ( I, on the other hand, has been expecting chaos from day 1  biggrin.gif  )

One solution I came up was to move the tea ceremony for my family to the Saturday. That way we could make Friday less of a hassle. The 'collection of the bride' and tea ceremony for her side of the family can start a bit later and after that she can stay at her place to get ready for the wedding.

Problem is, would it be a bit odd if I head to her place on Friday morning to 'collect the bride'/tea ceremony, but she doesn't come back with me? Doesn't sound right to me but would like the your opinions. <Super Odd  blush.gif >

Having the tea ceremony the next day would also mean that we would have to hire the photographer for an extra few hours the next day ( and I'm not sure how he charges ) <Forget about this biggrin.gif >

Another idea was to have the tea ceremony for her family on Thursday night. But this is also a bit tricky as some of her relatives are only arriving on Thursday night and would therefore miss it. Also, I still have to 'collect the bride' the next day and she still have to come back to my place. <Forget about this biggrin.gif >

Anybody here have any ideas how to make the wedding flow a bit better, and make it less of a rush ? Its too late to change the date, and cancelling the wedding is not an option lol. Any help would be greatly[I] appreciated <You need to get 2 traffic police to escort you in busy traffic thumbsup.gif Best is 3, 1 lead, 1 marshall, 1 sweeper >
