Just to share some photos how to change EO, Spark plug, coolant and air filter for S4PH engine or iriz 1.6 cvt premium. Even my mileage still 30k km and still under warranty by proton i got personal reasons and plan to DIY ing. Since fuel filter is out of stocks maybe i will show it next time.

The basic and compulsory tools are 8mm and 14mm spanars, 902-p14-67mm oil filter wrench with 26mm-27mm spannar, 14mm spark plug socket, philips screwdriver and jacks set.

For those who are not familiar with engine system and still under warranty by proton I AM VERY NOT ADVISABLE TO DO IT YOURSELF and iam not responsible for any damage/safety etc.!!!

DIY How to Change Iriz EO and Oil Filter
1. Start and drive your car for 10-15 mins (if morning/cold) to warm your engine. Or, wait at least 30 mins if yr engine already hot to avoid getting burned.
2. Find the flat and solid surface to do your task.
3. Get 2 bricks or any hard materials to put every rear tyres then reverse drive your car onto this ramps to make in horizon and easy leveling later (optional) ...refer pic 7&8
4. Jack up front body on driver side. U must use jack stand to hold the body not the jack alone. and optional jack up front passenger side together with jack stand..refer pic 8&9
5. Open/loose engine oil cap, Locate the oil drain plug (pic.11) Carefully unscrew drain plug using 14mm spanner (pic.6) until loose,…stop.. place the oil pan (min 5 liter liquid capacity) below it. Unscrew the plug by hand …Drain out old EO. ...
6. Optional, it u have extra unused EO just pouring in (pic.12) for extra ‘Flushing’ the remaining old EO inside the engine..300ml-500ml.
7. Then, Locate the EO filter (pic10). Unscrew it by using oil filter wrench size 902-p14-67mm with 26mm or 27mm spanner (pic5). Clean both drain plug and oil filter mount/base by using clean cloth (pic.16). Before put new oil filter, use new oil to coat the oil filter gasket. Optional, pour new oil into new oil filter quarterly to wet the filter paper and remove excessive oil and metal particle (if any)…(pic.13,14 &15)
8. Put new filter by using hand-tighten first until u feel ‘lock’ , then by using wrench make 2/3 to ¾ turn . Then drain plug, replace new oil seal (pic.3) hand-tighten then ½ to 1+ turn by spanner.
9. Pour new EO to engine (pic.18), iris 1.6 require 3.6-3.7 liters EO, start your engine, check any leakage. EO levels ..Done.

Btw, Original Iriz Oil filter is dark blue color with Code Num.: PW811577, another OEM Proton that fit is white color PC121102.

This is how to replace spark plugs :

DIY How to Change Iriz Spark Plugs
1. Remove top Proton engine cover by unscrew 4 corners either by using Philips screwdriver or 8mm socket. (pic.1&2)
2. Disconnect all the ignition coil by removing the clips by using longnose pliers. In my case, I will take out ignition coil first by using 8mm socket then disconnect the clip since very dusty problem.
3. By using 14mm spark plug socket, “L” shape and extension bar unscrew carefully old spark plug then put some clean tissue paper into the hole to prevent the debris falling down to the cylinder .(pic4,5,6,7)
4. Repeat step2 and 3 for the rest 3 spark plugs.
5. Clean, check and re-grease by using lithium grease on end tips of ignition coil spring and connector as well .(pic.8 &9)
6. Clean and remove any debris on engine top (pic 10 &11).
7. Remove the tissue paper. Carefully, put new spark plugs with light hand-tighten first until u feel ‘lock’ , then by using wrench make 1/2 to 2/3 turn . (pic12,13 & 14).
8. Put back ignition coil by push+swing move down and screw back. Re-connect the cable with clips. (pic15)
9. Start your engine, check any weird sound or small blue spark (if any)…don’t touch by bare hand due high voltage!!! Stop engine…if not…put the proton engine cover back. Done.

Btw, Original Iriz spark plug code number is PW812674 LKAR7C-9, cooper core with 30k km lifetime, u can use NGK LKAR7C-9 as well.

Last but not least, air filter (20k km) and coolant. For ori proton coolant should be last for 54months or 90k km. But personally i feel more secure if i do it 36months interval.

Total damage is less then rm300, combination with lazada, proton stockist and sparepart shop. Pesonally, i feel my toyota engine and my previous waja 1.8 renault engine are more easier to DIY then iriz.
TQVM.

Seems like lots of room for oil filter sandwich adapter..

Ops sorry, abit tight actually. That why i need to use 27mm (26mm should be) spannar with oil filter wrench.

1.check and clean yr AC blower
2. Check the mounting and housing of your AC blower
3.Check yr bearing AC blower motor.
