Thx for invitation!
My late dad is ZhengYi Grand Master 正一道長 for 60 years in service. I’m a freethinker & a professional Cantonese Taoist 廣府喃嘸。
Chinese Government took power in 1949 and banned all religious practices, traditional Chinese Characters, where Commonism is the Supreme Power after all.
The continuity of Tao lies on Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore & some other countries.
As China is influential now & temples located in mainland, they claimed that they are the genuine under all kind of “Entertainment Establishments 娛樂公司”.
I would like to share from Cultural perspective which is neutral in nature & discourage for superstitious.

Master, I had explore taoism before this and still finding it's difficulty to understand it's very first verse or the fundamental. Can help explained phase by phase what does it mean?

“A way that can be walked
is not The way,
A name that can be named
is not The Name

Tao is both Named and Nameless
As Nameless, it is the origin of all things
As Named, it is the mother of all things

A mind free of thought,
merged within itself,
beholds the essence of Tao
A mind filled with thought,
identified with its own perceptions,
beholds the mere forms of this world

Tao and this world seem different
but in truth they are one and the same
The only difference is in what we call them

How deep and mysterious is this unity
How profound, how great!
It is the truth beyond the truth,
the hidden within the hidden
It is the path to all wonder,
the gate to the essence of everything!”

wanted111who After learning Tao & found that too difficult to understand, just uninstall the program or de-learning. You will be closer to Tao 😅

Thanks, anyway wanted to double check with you master if my understanding on below is correct?

“A way that can be walked
is not The way,
A name that can be named
is not The Name - what we see or heard might not be true

Tao is both Named and Nameless
As Nameless, it is the origin of all things
As Named, it is the mother of all things - there are things we had and haven't discovered, things we haven't discovered is the origin, things we discovered is the beginning. An example I can think of is gravity force, during Laozi time, gravity isn't known to him. It's indeed an origin and also the beginning since we learned about it.

A mind free of thought,
merged within itself,
beholds the essence of Tao
A mind filled with thought,
identified with its own perceptions,
beholds the mere forms of this world - this is as per your advise, free the mind we will see further and closer to tao

Tao and this world seem different
but in truth they are one and the same
The only difference is in what we call them - there is only 1 truth, regardless of many different perceptions (named)

How deep and mysterious is this unity
How profound, how great!
- we have many things we have yet to discovered, unity above means the world, the universe, everything is complimenting each others in a united way. Example I can think of is our solars systems, how Earth rotated around the sun and moon rotates the earth creating day and night and how animals and trees functions days and nights. Moon gravitational force creates waves and tides
It is the truth beyond the truth,
the hidden within the hidden
there are many things that are connected together, once we understand one, there is another beyond us,examples I can think of is tides - due to gravitational force, then we discovered it's moons gravitational force, and with this force we discovered moon orbits then earth orbits and many other chain reaction along the way we haven't discovered
It is the path to all wonder,
the gate to the essence of everything!” referring to essence of Tao

wanted111who Your understanding is much better than I do 👍🏻

I think you feel lost like me in the crossroads, what else is missing?

I’m lazy in nature where accomplished lots of innovative projects to be lazier when I was in corporate. Just to name some, double production output with same equipment, 90% consumable cost reduction...when opportunity arises.

My 2cents opinion is focus on positive side that we wanted while aware of negative side that coexistence. Invest some time in cooling down our mind that would free up our memory space for faster response and wisdom improvements 😅

Rather than loss at crossroads, more like I'm seeking confirmation. Noted thanks to your advise will keep it in mind.
