Yest during my riad session i talked to some people. Their idea of raid is battle with first 3-4 mons and the last few just hantam only snorlax / blissey to tank it out since got a lot of other trainers that will battle and take down its HP. They will ask before raid, what to use (for now, they already expert in Ttar), but the rest they ask what type to use. No matter whether they are level 30, 38 or 40, still same. So sometimes its hard. With 17 people in the gym against Ttar, i can see at least 3 snorlax, 3 blissey at the same time. Those dodging like mad are using Machamp and Vapes. Most ended up using 4th mon.
*
I don't understand. If 1 person out of 10 players got 6 mons knocked out during a group battle, does it mean they lost??
Even if 1 person loses all 6 mons, he'll still get rewards when the group wins right??

I don't understand why need a backup plan like Blissey.. rclxub.gif

and where got 4 mons?? I used 2 mons for Tyranitar. We were 7 players, ranging from lvl29 to lvl36.

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jun 28 2017, 09:56 AM)
It cost 77,500 dust and 68 candies to level up raid/hatches to level 30.

135,000 dust and 163 candies to level up level 30 mons to max level 39.

So which is better... Quality or quantity?
*
define quality??

now even with IV 90% and above, I'm still not sure if I should power up.

Which Pokemon is it?

I will start by getting at least 2x lvl 30 pokemon strong counter against lvl 4 Raid Boss

So i will go with Quantity for now.

QUOTE(kww @ Jun 28 2017, 10:21 AM)
I'm doing this:
- I'll power mon with same move and minimum 82% iv to level 31 to get ready to fight raid boss. E.g machamp with counter/DP.
- I'll power up 95%-100% (43-45) IV strong mon all the way to limit. And use tm on this to get idea move set.

I think niantic will change the raid boss from time to time to keep the interest high. You'll need variety of specialise Pokémon and high DPS multipurpose (flareon, d9, ttar, executor). Ya also need a high hp bilssey at the end to tank it out.

Add some further clarification... using Ttar as an example but could be anything.

Would you build a 6x lvl30 Ttar attack squad

or

A 3x lvl39 Ttar attack squad?

Since candies and stardust are finite, can't go for the "why not both" scenario.

A couple of things to consider.

- We can't be sure there'll always be like 19 other players battling with us and this will exacerbate over time.

- Lvl 5 Raid Legendaries will be a lot more tougher.

- Higher level mons not only deals more dps but also survive longer hence lose a lot less dps between faint and new mon entering the battle.

- There's a direct correlation between raid reward and damage dealt though the folks haven't figured out the exact formula yet. Tanking it with Blisseys is not the smartest thing to do.

- TSOM After all 6 faint.. you can technically reenter the battle with another 6 fresh mon but you won't have enough time to choose or re-enter. Do experiment for us lah... go battle lvl 4 with 6 magickarp and report back.

So what is your strategy?

i was having 6 mons being knocked out in a raid battle
i can't re-enter the battle as the "battle" button is missing until my teammates finished the same battle.
but we failed to win the battle, so not sure about the rewarding part.

If ur 6 mons knocked out but battle still on going. You should get a rejoin button instead of going out to the Raid lobby.

Never tried timed out. But if you can't rejoin logically you lost the raid and don't get anything. That's why got ppl selfish want to tank with blissey.

Probably to clarify, I used till 4 because 1) lots of players just use blissey n snorlax to tank and 2) I was battling simultaneously on 2 phones my wife n my account.

I like your enthusiasm and I hate to pour cold water on you ..... but I think lvl 5 will be harder but not as hard as you think it is. I think Niantic is trying all pokemons accessible to everyone. Their aim is to have more users rather than having some ppl getting the high lvl mons only.

I think the toughest is P2P .... if it ever gonna be launched.

anyway, you wouldn't be needing 6 tyranitar. Even with 7 players against lvl4 raid boss, I've only used 2 pokemons against Tyranitar and Snorlax. I only dodge charged moves. For tyranitar, my teammates (7 players) were not strong, but for Snorlax (8 players), my teammates were mostly lvl39 or lvl40. And all of us used Machamp.

anyway, I got one 98% IV Machamp 2672 CP. Now I've used the fast TM to get the perfect moveset on my 100% IV machamp, I'm gonna power up this machamp from lvl20.... cry.gif there goes my stardust.

Stardust is becoming even more scarce now, so think carefully!!

Yes they trying to make it easy for the less hardcore with all the lapras and larvitar in previous events and now making evolved forms accessible. Having said that, with the formerly hard-to-get pokemons easy now.. what they have left are just those thats unreleased.. like the legendaries.
Legendaries arent easy in the main series.. i dont see why or even if they can make it easy for pogo.

That is a big "if".... is everyone selects mons based on type advantage, SE, etc., then ok. But some ppl just whack whatever auto select... recently its blissey and snorlax if you notice.

How hard a lvl 5 raid will be is anyone's guess... but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. You can't expect to go into battle bringing D9, 3.0k Ttar, or just simply any level 30 other mons against a MEWTWO (well, i guess that's what people are expecting, although i do expect other legendaries to be released first) and expect to beat it easily.

That said, i feel that Niantic will not allow certain legendaries to be caught that easily. Simple logic is they have created a lot of events for us to get different type of mons, level up through xp grind, giving out extra candy, etc. Although i might stand corrected as they have bulked under pressure recently and reduce the raid TL eligibility. Based on the feedback (not confirmed), the thought Niantic has is to release legendaries via a "legendary raid pass" that will be awarded to high level players that have completed significant amount of gym battles and raids.

Btw, the "more" users that Niantic wants - they will get it from Asians especially, but mainly from one person with multiple accounts. Some of the ppl i met yesterday have at least 4-5 accounts and went in 4-5 times in an hour to battle the same ttar. The gym rework has not drawn in more interest new players nor has it brought back many old (retired) players back for long, unfortunately

Oh yeah, there has been a lot of feedback on reddit asking for a double stardust event which might be incorporated into the Anniversary Event in July (Don't hold your breath!!).

Doable.... If don't dare jolteon, then just try out a flareon / machamp / gengar.
You should have the mons in your arsenal to take it out.
