Im just wondering.. hows the shadowban situation in malaysia? U guys see any difference  in activity?

My side i noticed that anecdotally gyms last slightly longer, less ppl out hunting from last 2 days observation and slightly more lures (weird cos there was quite a few single lures recently)

Talking to some of the folks at lure spots, most of the guys got their main account shadowbanned for using iv checkers and some had tried spoofing.

No different here in cheras, gym battle is still very fierce. Active start evening until morning. You can almost constantly see smoke come out from gym every now and than. Almost all are familiar trainers as far as I can see. Some I suspect is spoofer but is still there.

I think overall still about the same. Gym still held by same accounts. Catching had reduced a lot i guess. Heard 2 aunties' conversation at market said that she lazy to play.

I don't think spoofing gets you shadow banned (unless the person teleports between locations too fast which earns a soft ban, not sure if changed to shadow ban now). IV checkers and botting seem to be the main reason.
Yup. During shadow ban, can catch the normal mon, hatch egg, evolve, battle gyms, claim coins (but apparently cannot buy items)/
LOL... nvm... we wait another time.
P.S. - Read that Niantic has started uplifting the shadow bans.

On the other hand, it seems like the community is so obsessed with cheaters that I feel will just breed more frustration and people quitting.

Look at tsr for instance, these days the discussion there are 99% dominated by how to revamp the game, how to beat cheaters etc instead of nerding over pokemons.

Not the first time , and wouldn't be the last either. I'm sure spoofer will have counter for it already.
Just enjoy the game la, gym is just part of it.

Bro, assuming niantic does stop all type of cheaters ya, then part of this exercise leaves us in a conundrum as well.. I.e. No more trackers/scanners/calculators...

So, if we look at existing legit players in isolation, without trackers etc, would the crowd increase or decrease?

I'm opposite. Gyms becoming really leceh to take down. This morning I see... one needed 8K prestige to insert... the other 2 are level 7 instinct = lazy di.

Maybe dedicate some time for grinding - 1.5 hours per day, and another 1 hour or so to hunt. Else, just dedicate first few days to hunt, last few days to grind (~ 2.5 hours per day for 4 days).

Niantic doing a lot of teasers on events and future happenings... but still no concrete idea of how / what it will be like  . Take the gym rework, although they may think they wanna surprise trainers... but at least they could mention about what the dynamics will be like, what we can expect. Rather than us just wait in anticipation (relying on data mine to get a brief idea), holding back on evolutions, saving candies and dust, etc.

I saw the CTO speech on AR playground.. but no timelines, no indication how it might impact immediate gameplay, etc. Just feel its more of functionality rather than features...
