Hi everyone,

I've created a thread for us to discuss and share about Buddhism. If possible let's stick to Buddism teaching and less on Taoism though there are many similarities in practice.

Even though i have been a Buddhist my whole life, i have never really learn what it means to be one or even practice the teachings at all.

Here's an FAQ:

Im Hindu and i think Buddhism have a lot more similarities but some variance in the concept of Karma as well like the path to liberation Moksha vs Nirvana.

Both religion encourage pipul to use brain and think that part i like the most.

Please explain to me the general opinion Buddhists in Malaysia have towards Tibetan Buddhism. Generally I find that Buddhists in Malaysia don't know and don't care about the Dalai Lama at all. Why is this so?

There are 2 type of Buddhism Mahayana and Theravada. Malaysian belong to the one non associated to Dalai Lama.
