more than that.
How did the Buddha teach?
As i shared above
What did he teach?
Why did the Blessed One establish the order of the Monks/Nuns, and institute the Vinaya rules to govern their conduct?
The vinaya is to govern oneself desire in order for support the practice to calm the mind. It is like a one steel bar and for 1 rules. 5 rules = 5 steel bars, 8 rules = 8 steel bars and for monk 227 steel bars to cage the desire mind. If you notice, in every suffering there is a desire infront of it. How did the Buddha teach?

Chanting is samatha meditation where you focus on one object to calm down the mind, this is to prevent you from thinking or any thought arise. Chinese chanting have dhamma behind it but the word is too deep for us to understand. If you are a english speaker, try to read Theravada chanting that translates into english. More easy to understand. Am more focus on Theravada tradition and in meditation in order to calm the mind and obtain peace.
