QUOTE(rourou @ Oct 15 2009, 05:42 PM) what is the rate you've got from money changer? now i don't know how much to change for 2 pax.... same number of days like you my friend in tw told me that wufenpu is something like our petaling st, but items will more variety than Petaling st. Only cash acceptable in wufenpu. credit cards is acceptable in shopping complex and departmental store only. Up to ytd i saw the rate is tw$100=RM11.15 (LG,Mid Valley) i plan to bring along my Bank's Debit card in case not enuf money, can straight away withdraw the local currency over there. Charges from the bank only RM12 per transaction, vary from banks..... This post has been edited by dreamingguy2: Oct 15 2009, 08:47 PM |

QUOTE(rourou @ Oct 16 2009, 08:51 AM) There's a few that I always use.... i think can get better rate than that. you have to bargain a bit... then they will lower for you For me, im brining NT24,000 for 2 persons....is that enough?? So your advice is better change some USD and change into NT in the airport or money changer?Mid Valley Wawasan - 2287 5050 Best rate - 2287 2000 The Weld (this one will deliver to your office - call for Aisha and say you're friend of peiyee) Craft Dynamics - 2032 5000 I've been checking the rates for a few days... noticed that Wawasan gives the best USD rate (but 0.01 diff only lar), while Craft Dynamics gives the best NT rate (0.03 diff more or less). How does it work? have to find same bank or any atm in taiwan would work for debit cards? wouldn't we loose on conversion rates if change here change there? blurr now not many money changer in town? even shopping complexes?? Debit card is like Credit card function but it uses the fund in your saving account. As credit card company like visa or mastercard valid worldwide, so you can just withdraw your money through any bank overseas. exchange rate will be the same from the Visa & Master international exchange rate...which i think will normally lower than currency note exchange. just bear in mind, diff bank in malaysia will have diff charges by withdrawing money in overseas. |

QUOTE(vergil90 @ Oct 16 2009, 09:09 PM) Ai ya, want to visit but no time. waste already. Thanks for all the opinion....i think i will change some USD to standby and can for next yr my Cambodia trip as well.....AirAsia ROCKS!!..now really everyone can fly...even fly everyday oso can!!Added on October 16, 2009, 9:17 pm Should be enough for 24,000. 8 days mean 8 * 2 * 1500 = 24000. So each person if use less then 1500 still can shop. Their 7-11 and carrefour is nice to buy things. I like their instant bowl noodle very much, just around 40 to 60 per bowl. Get a spare credit card in case want to buy something you like. I only allocate 1000/person/day coz just wander around taipei, others will used by my wife shopping. My experience is Citibank credit card give the best conversion rate, standard chartered one is lousy. If use debit card better use oversea bank one, in case local one hard to go through, u know lah, Malaysia bank don't have branch in Taiwan. |

QUOTE(mars1069 @ Oct 17 2009, 09:53 AM) Ya, I travel many places with AA, but always wait for its promotion, lagi worth to buy. But hard to go in group if 1 2 buy during promotion coz need to make decision fast, if u call 1 by 1 to confirm d date, the time u got the answers, the tickets all sold out. So, normally go 2 persons only, can make decision immediately. The Cambodia AngKoWat will be my 2nd time to go....thats is a really great place to go! well...got to come back to the topic of tw, otherwise being deleted post...hehe...It's good to spare some US dollars when traveling, it's recognize in all countries. Cambodia is another country I wish to visit too, now "printing" money, hopefully manage to make it Anyone plan to visit to south of Taiwan? from the newspaper it seem those places in a mess now.... |
