Hey guys, what do you use to store Ether and XRP?
Also, anyone can recommend reliable news for cryptocurrencies? I heard litecoin might jump up to $40 soon as they're about to be accepted to Alphabay, dunno real or not lol.

Do any of you guys use Bitstamp instead? Since it's an exchange, should be lower than sites like Luno\localbitcoins right?

Do you guys think it's a good time to put more into BTC now? Considering it's meteoric rise, not sure if a fall is imminent soon doh.gif

I got some but I never thought it will ever shoot so high. As it stands now, 315B market cap and 9th spot on the crypto market cap chart. Incredible!  rclxub.gif

They got another giveaway next month I think, price will either drop to the floor or it will go way up lol.

That's the problem. Why is the price shooting when they are giving free coins???  rclxub.gif

Looks like BTC sneezing again. Good! I'm ready for another round of deep red sea fishing!!!  bruce.gif

Maybe because the giveaway is based on how much BTC you have, so indirectly there's a value there per BTC. Btw, do you ever take out your profits from crypto or everything gets recycled back in? Trying to think of a long term strategy

we're unlikely in a bubble.
If we're include gold, stocks, forex market cap, BTC merely resemble XRP. USD200 swing feels like 2cents swing.

3billion internet users, 2billions unbanked. only 21mill BTC available.  And countries starting to adopt it whistling.gif

Yup, eventually I came to the same conclusion, so bought some this afternoon during the sea of red nod.gif

QUOTE(kmarc @ May 11 2017, 07:24 PM)
Ok, here comes my noob opinion again.  bruce.gif

I decided to roughly check my hoard of coins on Polo and I'm happy to say that I think 95% of them are higher than the initial buy in (altcoin/btc ratio). No, it is not to boast or what. I just realized that if you talk about "store of value", altcoins can also do the same! Indirectly, of course.

You might be asking, "Crazy guy, what are you blabbering about????"  biggrin.gif

Well, do remember that altcoins are paired to bitcoins i.e. altcoin/bitcoin ratio. If bitcoin and altcoins were increasing at the same percentage rate, the ratio would be the same. Say bitcoin is USD 1000 and altcoin/bitcoin pair is 0.001 (i.e. USD 1) a few weeks ago. Ok, take the price of BTC now - USD 1800. If the ratio was the same 0.001 (sat), the price of the altcoin is actually USD 1.8!!!

That means that with BTC's graph going upwards, altcoins just have to be at a plateau to enjoy the same gains. However, altcoins trend is also up!!! Meaning to say, in general, altcoins are gaining more than bitcoin!  rclxms.gif

Here's an example of one of my coin that is not moving much. Vericoin, bought on 18/4/2017 at 0.00006937. Now it is 0.00007314. Minimal gain right? No! On 18/4/2017, bitcoin was about USD 1265 when I bought vericoin, say 1000 coins. So that would be Vericoin buy price = USD 1265 x 0.00006937 x 1000 coins= USD 87.75

Now, bitcoin is USD 1800 which makes vericoin USD 1800 x 0.00007314 x 1000 coins= USD 131.6!!!!

Now, imagine those coins that has increase hundreds of percentage points when you first bought in.

Which one has a "temporarily" better store of value?  brows.gif

Of course, this is talking about BTC that is constantly on a rising trend and altcoins that doesn't crash and burn.

So what do you guys think? Am I thinking right or am I just plain crazy?  dry.gif
*
Yes, your logic is correct nod.gif simply looking at BTC ratio means nothing. You have to record the USD\unit value at the moment of purchase to truly appreciate the gain from altcoins. most of the sea of red for alt coins are from btc rising, not alt coins crashing. but if bitcoins crash altcoins will most probably too

Hi guys im new here, looking to get into the world of cryptocurrency. Is there a way to buy ETH from MYR directly? Also for small amounts of investment (<5k MYR) for now is it advisable to get hardware wallet immediately or desktop wallet is sufficient for now?
*
No, have to go through BTC first before exchanging it on Polo for ETH.

STR? Some are saying STR is something like ripple. Of course, ripple has progressed leaps and bounds. So, HODL for me and maybe trade a bit at the sides. smile.gif

They are both from the same company. Yeah they're kinda shady although they get pumped a lot. People only invest in it for the pumps, otherwise it's real shady csuse they can add millions of volume anytime they want (centralized). That's why I sold all my STR and most of my XRP, I don't feel easy with these alts lol. Changed all into sia and golem biggrin.gif

Whats wrong with price of BTC in Luno? Current BTC price at RM7820 but Luno is selling at 8280?
*
That's for instant buy, don't see that price, it's usually 10% above the market price. Go to exchange and deal there

Glad i wasn't the only one that realised it.

Well the problem here i guess is that we dont have enough sellers on the exchange.

Buyers> Sellers hence the increase in price.
I really need another source to get my BTCs at a price close to spot. Not going to pay a price that's highly inflated bruce.gif  mad.gif  bruce.gif

You can try bitstamp but the bank transfer will take years, by the time you get your bitcoins the action might be over lol. Its been 2 weeks and they still havent accepted my verification documents.

Anyone here used Tether? To avoid paying ridiculous overheads on Luno.

But on a side note: you buy high, but you can also sell high there right? lol

EDIT: I've been thinking about it. Even if you go on US exchange markets, you have to TT rm to usd there, and bank TT rates are real high too, + a fee. So if you take that into account, the price Luno charges is somewhere around there + much more convenient\instant. Anyone agree with me? dry.gif
