Haha, what WooTZ means is that if you lose your hardware wallet for whatever reason, you are still safe as you can get a new wallet and initiate the recovery process. The hardware wallet don't hold any currencies. Just the private keys. That's why I have to keep a copy of my recovery info in the bank's safe deposit box!!!

If traffic is congested, so what? It is something that we must sacrifice. A very small trade-off with BTC offering security, immutability, decentralized in nature. These are extremely valuable if you understand its purpose. If you want a good service, you must pay for it.

Besides this congestion is actually still a good transition if you are a business owner/institutions. Few days delay in BTC is nothing compared to the huge risk of not getting paid by customers even after you give 60 or 90 days credit terms.

Need some advice as I am still new to cryptocurrency.

I have been accumulating BTC for a few months and now think I am ready to move on to other coins specifically ETH.

I can't seem to buy/sell ETH from a local exchange like Luno for ETH. So I am thinking of transferring some BTC to my Jaxx wallet and use Shapeshift to buy ETH.

Is this a good idea or is there a better way to buy/sell ETH.

Agree with Exodus.io. Slick interface has wallets for most of the famous cryptocurrencies and integrates with shapeshift too. Also you have control of your own private keys. If you're using the windows app, press SHIFT + CTRL + D to enable developer mode
