It was, for a time.
I have since converted some of my BTC to ETH.
But, seems most of the altcoins are not doing so well at the moment with the increase in BTC price.

Yeah, as always, unpredictable. I was hoping for BTC to drop after the failed 2nd ETF with persistent unresolved hardforking of BTC. Then Japan acceptance of BTC happened. rclxub.gif

Actually heard about that bit on polo a few days back but didn't react as I didn't want to play the market. Looks like i need to tweak my strategy yet again. Convert to BTC on good news and convert back to altcoins or USDT on bad news.

For my minor altcoins, I'm going to try joining the pumps and dumps. A lot of opportunities to earn a quick buck which I had refrained myself from doing. I think for minor altcoins, have to follow stock market, don't fall in love with a particular stock too much! biggrin.gif

Had stopped buying BTC for a some time now. See how things turn out after the recent Japan news sink in.

However, my long term HODL plan still remains. ETH and dash!!! already in my trezor.

So it's true. Someone did mentioned that in poloniex trollbox. Shucks, still hoping for BTC's prices to drop a bit.

I can't imagine what will happen to altcoins when BTC really resolve its hardfork problem. Still have time to enjoy altcoins for now!  rclxms.gif

Anyway, bought some ETH and also clams, since both droppped. Can't resist lending out clams due to the good lending rate!  biggrin.gif

Most of my clams lent out at 1.7-2.0% expiring tonight. No more such high rates.....  sad.gif

Yeah, as mention by coupefanatic. ETH lending rates are very bad though. Not really worth it at the moment.

On other news, litecoin segwit at 61%!! Hopefully can reach 75% soon.

Yup, there is no need for blind loyalty in investment. Your objective is only to increase your investments and make money for your family.
So, just go with whatever that increases your profits.
I mean, I still think bitcoin is a viable investment and there is still a good chance that it will break free from the current chains of civil war, but don't lose sight of the other coins.
Right now I have BTC, ETH and XMR permanently on my holding, but am also dabbling a little into the other coins just for speculation along with the masses.

Yeah, just put it in the closet for a while until the next frenzy rally comes around.
biggrin.gif I'm doing the same.

Is the any drawbacks in lending at poloniex? Can the lender run away with our btc or can we suffer any loss?

No worries, I bought at USD 46 yesterday. blink.gif

Ok, here comes my noob 0.0002 ETH opinion! biggrin.gif From my reading and available evidences, I do sincerely think ETH will be the next bitcoin. Not so much as a anonymous cryptocurrency but the blockchain internet of the world. I guess we all know ETH doesn't function like BTC as they have different purposes. For BTC, it is already there, with many other coins vying to catch up. BTC's unique features may still be it's downfall, when one day, governments around the world say enough is enough especially the illegal aspects of using bitcoins. ETH has no such problem.... I think. It is designed to power the internet blockchain-style and there's no other "coin" that is near ETH at the moment. If ETH developers are successful, and I think that is very close at hand, ETH will really shoot to the moon. thumbup.gif

Hurray, I just managed to bottom-fish ETH!!! rclxms.gif

According to the mods, the coins that you lent out cannot be transferred out of Poloniex and they have safeguard measures to protect the lender. They say the risk is minimal if not negligible. I have successfully offered hundreds of loans with no problems at the moment but I won't say it is 0% risk. Yes, I'm a loan shark and just loaned out my clams at 1.498%!!! brows.gif

Litecoin segwit at 63.4%!!!!

No la, was slowly channelling my bitcoins to altcoins. My strategy hardforked remember? biggrin.gif Even now when I buy bitcoins, it is slowly converted to altcoins. Last bitcoin purchase was 10 days ago and last night. I'm almost out of bitcoins now. sad.gif I think I'm already at my targeted 10% of total investment so future funds will only trickle in slowly. bye.gif

Litecoin segwit up to 68%!!! Any expert on litecoin? What will happen to litecoin prices when segwit activates? hmm.gif

Personally, I don't have any LTC, but I did hear that they are trying to push segwit on it soon as a test so they can prove it can run on bitcoin as well.
If it works, then not only litecoin will see a jump in price, I have a feeling that bitcoin will rise as well.
Damn......look at the spikes on HUC and QTL......
blink.gif

On second thought......you may be right.
Maybe now is the time to transfer out the bitcoins and convert them into altcoins, while the bitcoin price is up and the altcoins prices are cheap.
To be honest, my exposure in cryptocurrencies is probably too high.
Due to the recent rise of ETH, my total holding in cryptocurrencies is now about 25% of my total investment nest egg.
Scary...... mellow.gif

Ermmm... I hope you still keep some BTC. Who knows it might shoot up with news.

I'm not sure whether the trend will continue but every time BTC goes up, altcoins will get hit with deep nice discounts which later recovers slowly. Really good opportunity to either buy cheap or buy low sell high.

Ya, me too. If there is opportunity, I want to increase mine to 15% of total. See how's the market.
