I'm starting to like what I'm reading here.
If this works, it could be a game changer indeed.
Poloniex, Bitfinex and other centralised exchanges better start getting their shit in order.
I'm sick and tired of all these lags and downtime.

Nope, I won't be picking those big ones.

I want to catch the percentage gainz just like 6 cents ripple towards 30 cents

100 ETH isn't much anyway, implode also nvm
*
Ouch, now you're hurting my feelings.
100 ETH is more than many people's annual salary, you know.
I need a minute now to wallow in self pity while contemplating why I didn't buy more when it was still at USD 15.

Hello,

Have some ethers now and looking to invest into other cryptocurrencies.
What are the best multi-cryptocurrency brokers out there?

Easy to deposit and withdraw in cash.
*
Poloniex and Bittrex are pretty good crypto to crypto exchanges, but they don't deal with Ringgit Malaysia.

Yup, that's my current strategy as well.
Just close my eyes and try not to get too excited with the recent crazy hikes.

I'm thinking I will sell ONE ETH when it is usd 1000 to built a killer mining rig! biggrin.gif

Sounds like a plan.
Some of the altcoins are still quite profitable to mine.
Let us know how it goes.
I'm too lazy to start an ambitious project like that.

noob questions

how do u guys save btc externally?
*
The most secure way to keep your cryptocurrency is using a hardware wallet.
But it also depends on how much you have, to justify the cost of buying a hardware wallet.
If you hold RM2000 worth of bitcoin or more, you should buy one.

RM 2000 or USD 2000? I'm taking a risk my having all in POLO for time being until buy one. Keeping my coins in POLO for lending purpose. Should be moving out all soon.
*
Ringgit Malaysia 2000.
My Rule of 5, if your holding is more than 5 times the cost of a hardware wallet, then you should buy one.
But that's just my personal opinion.

They manipulate their charts/books, then people rush for the exit, which gave USDT a premium, which affects other legitimate coins like ETH but not junkcoin like ETC.

Many of us would rather see polo gently implode into the darkness.
*
Now I have a problem that some of my coins like Monero are not supported by hardware wallets, so if I don't use Poloniex, I'll have to transfer them to another online exchange anyway, and the same problem might arise again.

Dear cryptoforumers,

Here's comes another "episode" of my ramblings.  rclxms.gif I want to discuss on the multiplier effect of bitcoin and why you should also get some good altcoins.

Come, let's discuss and kindly point out any mistakes or errors. wink.gif (Boy, I'm having a headache....... rclxub.gif )

As usual, a well written and clear guide.
Thanks very much for your time and effort to share this in a structured manner for the benefit of everyone here.

dear sifus, very noobie question here. I saw some platforms has trading section for digital currency (BTC, ETH, and others) and if I bought some, for example, ETH on this trading section, does it mean I own the ETH and it will be in my wallet (provided by the platform)?

I'm asking this because I saw platforms like CEX.IO allows you to directly buy ETH/BTC instantly (of course with higher fees) or through the trading section. I'm just not sure what's the difference between the two. Please don't flame me sad.gif
*
Yes, once you buy the coin, either through the instant buy function or the normal trade function, the coins are the same and they are credited into your platform account wallet in the same manner, there is no difference.
Instant just means that you don't have to wait for someone to match your buy offer price, and simply means you will be buying at the current sell offer price at that moment.

And if you want to buy 1 BTC but the lowest sell offer only has 0.2 BTC, that order will be filled first, then the system goes to the next lowest sell offer, fill that, and keep moving on until your whole buy order of 1 BTC is fulfilled.

I noticed different exchanges has different pricing for each cryptocurrency. Some are cheaper than the others and vice versa. Is it because of the supply-demand in each exchange? Cuz I was wondering, if let's say I buy 1 ETH at USD180 at Exchange A and then transfer 1ETH to Exchange B, then sell it at USD190, instant USD5 gain on top of whatever profit I make?  blink.gif  unsure.gif  shocking.gif  confused.gif
*
Yes, you're right.
And some people actually do that.
It's called arbitrage.
Sadly, it's not so easy for Malaysians to do that profitably, as there are no local exchanges that serve crypto-to-crypto exchange.

Hey I am trying to link my Ledger with MyEtherWallet to keep my ERC20 altcoins.
Getting more and more nervous that I have too much money kept on Poloniex.
How do I know which altcoins are ERC20 type?
Is there a complete list or something?
I tried to Google but don't seem to be able to find what I need.

Wow! Bloodbath everywhere? Is this the correction after such an euphoric bullrun or are there some bad news?  hmm.gif
Besides the link from WooTz, you can also view all ether tokens in MyEtherWallet. Just log into MyEtherWallet and click on "Show all tokens" as below:

[attachmentid=8852625]

Oh ya, that's not my wallet tongue.gif. I just pulled one random address from etherscan.

New tokens won't be shown until they update the wallet.
Looks like market is undergoing correction. The coins should go up once the correction "corrects" itself. However, how long that will take is anybody's guess.
*
Hmm...according to the link provided by WooTz, actually most of my coins are not ERC20 type...... sad.gif
Like Monero, for example.

Can I put all the different tokens into the same address?
Or is it advisable to split them up into different addresses?

Don't store in exchanges bro. Especially not Polo, I've removed all my money from Polo, it's looming with scandals now if you follow their news. Some said money has been missing, and with the whole debacle about siacoin wallet being disabled. Super dodgy! If you havent got a hardware wallet, try using Exodus wallet to store in your computer temporarily.
*
Unfortunately, at the moment, many types of tokens are not supported by hardware wallets.
What I am doing now is to put everything I can into hardware wallets......and those that I can't, I split them into multiple different online exchanges.
Not ideal, but I think I can live with that for now.

Most of those not supported I wallop masuk MEW (myetherwallet). Those that cannot masuk either hardware or mew I try not to invest. Last I bought anything I couldn't withdraw from exchanges is XVG (Verge). But I sold them off right after 100% profit. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat la when comes to money lol
*
It's good to be cautious.
Anyway, I do have a number of coins that are not supported by both the hardware wallet and MEW, so my options are rather limited there.

I'll throw in a random prediction.

This thing ain't gotta hit double digits, back to fresh ATH same time next week.

Welcome to crypto
*
I'm counting on it.
It's unsettling, looking at my balance now compared to two days back......but oh what the hell, I'm still more than 100% profit overall, so I guess I should be thankful.
My only complaint is that I have no more money to buy more right now! bangwall.gif

Buy!

QUOTE(hjffgjng @ May 27 2017, 06:08 PM)
what exchanges needed to sign up to do this arbitrage??
*
Sign up with all of them if you're serious about doing this.
You'll need to keep track of the prices on each exchange, and manually do the transfers to the most profitable one, and sell there.
It's tough work......I'm just too lazy for that.

Just google for list of cryptocurrency exchanges.
Note that not all exchanges are created equal.
Some are inherently safer and more secure than others.

All these talk of exchange not reliable and getting a hardware wallet made me paranoid. Trezor cost US$99. Is that the most popular choices? Do they sell in Malaysia?
*
Personally, I would recommend the Ledger Nano S.

Yes, coin support is exactly why I recommend the Ledger.
I've not tried the Trezor so I have no comments on it.

Ah crap, I just realised the latest correction seems to have stopped already.
ETH back to USD 180.
Too quick!
Was hoping to get some on the cheap when my salary is out.
Slim chance now. sad.gif
