My Air2 has the same issue as yours. I went to Machine service centre just now, they said since my warranty is expired, and Apple is phasing out Air2, there is nothing can be done except exchange a new one at the price of RM1600+.
I don't think it is a good deal. So, I went to Digital Mall at Sek14 in PJ. Some offer me RM 1000+. I almost knocked every stalls to check the price. Eventually, I found a stall which offers me RM670+6%. The reason behind such dear price is that Apple has fused the screen and touch sensor together which cannot be seperatedly repaired in Air2. I've to agree with the deal.

Yes indeed ipad air 2 screen come in one piece including the touch and touch ID usually have to pindah from your existing one or else u will end up Touch ID failed or something like that , the reason the charger port cost so much is because of this stupid apple design , not plug in plug in and out but is a soldering job thats why .

I've just received a bad news. Apparently it it not my touch screen faulty. It's possible my mainboard that is faulty.
I wonder if I should just proceed to repair it or just buy a new one....

When the repair cost more than RM1000, it will better just get the new iPad which cost RM1549 only with new warranty.

Just trade in or sell the old ipad as faulty unit to get back some money.

If the repair costs beyond RM1000, I would not consider reparing it at all...
Machine said trading in my iPad only covers RM200 as they said my Air2 is slightly bent in which I never able to find the bent.
I hoped nothing more than the amount... Am getting finger crossed...

Not getting iPad. My iPhone will replace the function of my Air2...
Considering getting a new MBP 2016 without touchbar before my student card expires...

Better take the new one with extra one year warranty but the screen of the new ipad is bit ..... But the AN process er is much butter smooth ..
