Hi im new to steam website i want to buy game from steam website how does the it works does it allow me to download big file like 32GB or play online ?

1) buy game.

2) download it for example grand theft auto is 60gb.

3) play it. if the game is online then u play it online. if its single player only then got no online feature lo.

can i download and save in hard disk as a back up and can i download multiple times if i lost the game files ?

yes, it is yours to download and delete freely. no need back up also can redownload 1000 times.

erm there is no minimum or maximum speed required to play online. i used to play ragnarok online with 56kbps in 2002.

If you have a slow-er internet connection then u may experience lag. but it cant stop you from being able to play online games.

u can download the game, use steam to create a backup installer file in your hdd as back up. when u need it, just restore via Steam client and it will automatically download any new updates needed.
