I have tried experimenting with different types of coffee blend whether it is freshly ground, instant or 3 in 1, I find this particular blend to be my favorite. It is creamy, it uses ground coffee yet no filtering is required, it has that complicated yet satisfying taste and the best thing is it doesn't cost you a fortune.

Tupai Special coffee powder 200g - you can get this for only RM4 at KK store. The product uses 3 types of coffee: Liberica, Arabica and Robusta. This is what gives the coffee its body. Gourmet coffee alone is not enough, you need strong and dark coffee since milk will be added. This coffee powder is so fine that can be considered microground, it passes literally all filter so no filtering is required. Just let it sit for a while to sink to the bottom.

Super microground black coffee (I use Colombian) 20x2g - bought this at 99 speedmart for RM8. It has that nice fruity, sour and signature light roasted taste. It complements well with strong coffee and adds another layer of flavor to your coffee.

First, empty a sachet of 2g Super microground black coffee together with 2-3 teaspoons of Tupai Special coffee powder into a glass. Pour in 150ml hot water and brew for 4 minutes. While the brew is still hot, add 2 teaspoons of raw cane sugar according to your taste. Without filtering finally add 1 packet 200ml of your favorite full cream milk and stir. Let the fine powder sinks to bottom before served. This recipe makes 350ml of milk coffee.

What about your favorite milk coffee recipe? Let's share.

I got this when I went to Jakarta last time. Kinda got myself addicted to its taste. Sometimes I drink it black, other times I add milk/creamer.

If instant coffee, cannot drink black. Don't like the taste.

Yes the kapal api is one of my favorites as well. I use the coarse powder and brew with tea filter cup. A bit messy and time consuming but once a while i will make this too.

I tried it with paper filter once, the taste is not as strong as when you leave it (the coffee powder) in the cup.

Paper filter is nothing. Imagine the coffee and water contact time is just a few seconds. You know the teabags or stock bags sold in Daiso? I tried and it works as well. Just fill the bag with coffee powder and let it steep for few minutes and take it out. No mess.

I use a tea filter cup like this for brewing kapal api coffee.
