Downtrend broken.

Sunset industry (but in the midst of diversifying). That recent fire may allow them to diversify faster. But i dont think the stronger ringgit will benefit them, since they supply HDD compenents. But i didnt dig deeper.

Daniel: One fire... then another fire?

In such cases, how would one 'investor' trust such a company?

Yes... we are talking about trading here... but as a trader, I feel one should understand that the strong hand in any stock is the investors...
these are the group of folks who holds the stock ... day and night.... well... until... the TRUST is broken.
In Notion's case... I feel the trust issue has severely dented the stock.

The first fire... well... shit does happen...
but the second one... ie... the timing of it...
a period where things were looking extremely rosy for Notion Vtec, especially its potential in the auto industry. (yes, auto indusstry. It's in theit homepage )

A lot of folks were burnt...
as I believed many chased the stock when it was above 1.00... even 1.20+....

so now here we are....

I am not sure about this stock atm....
risks are aplenty.....

also... how safe is this current 'stronger ringgit' rally?

well.... I for one... I have my doubts.

Capital Edge Best Call Awards 2017
Jaks is in the list..........after almost a year finally it starts to bear some fruits, hopefully more to come.
*
I for one think the analyst industry is a joke.

Ok.

How do you rate a call?

Do you judge it by the company's profit performance?
or do you judge it by the stock market price?

and luckily in JAKS we have probably a good example...

Sure JAKS stock price went up ... and then went down... and UP again.

And the stock price did terror good for 2017.
But was stock price justified by its earnings performance for 2017?

Ohh dint know they had another fire back in 2013. Their insurance premium must be very high now.

I believe the lack of trust with the company was one of the reasons why the sank so terribly bad after the recent fire.

which is why people always say dont play with fire.  tongue.gif

however, i noticed that in their previous qr, notion mentioned that they are in a production of a new products for a new customer and the profit margin is very high.  hmm.gif

Like I said... b4 the fire... there was some really good potential in the stock.

Now? laugh.gif

Do you really want to TRUST this company?

Yup... it all boils down to trust.

Dividends has its risks especially when the company pays out more than it can afford.

http://uk.mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUKKBN1F5266

QUOTE
The construction company raised its payout to shareholders every year, taking its dividends from 4 pence-a-share in 1999 to 18.45 pence-a-share in 2016, according to the analysis of its accounts.

That means it handed out a total of 775.8 million pounds to shareholders over its lifetime, until it fell into liquidation this week, Reuters calculations show.

Meanwhile i'm sitting on sideline. biggrin.gif

KAREX still showing great momentum heading south. Even with record breaking revenue, the high distribution and administrative expenses has eat into profit.

The myth of "Insider Buying = Company is undervalued !!" gone bust.  innocent.gif

Naughty you. tongue.gif

ya..ya... Karex.. said long b4.
I think this is another fine example of not to use Uncle Buffett saying of 'buy what you know'...
and also 'big' or 'well known companies do not necessary make a good stock bet.

... and ya ya.. stock buybacks or insider buying... is never a safe indicator.

staying on sidelines is never a bad idea ....
buying for the sake of buying IS.

Air asia... Roflmao.. fire sale? lol.. nah nah... leasing co sale die where? ok.. fire sale could clean it's bs nicely... and the stock market is liking it? tongue.gif

and Orna, with the rise of online shopping and e-commerce, demand for corrugated box and corrugated flutes increase as well?  biggrin.gif

That AirAsia really something... pathetic tongue.gif

** though those fansi who made money from the stock would never ADMIT **

last time... borrowed like hell... and yet bought more planes...

now? They sell a bunch of them planes?
why?
to reduce debts....

doh.gif

** ever occurred to anyone that perhaps if TF would be more prudent and less arrogant .. they would not have to do such a fire sale? **

and yet they got so much more new planes to masuk.

lol... so in the future... just sell some more planes loh...

lol... the wonders of the corporate market. biggrin.gif

ps... got dividend from the fire sale ah?

Airasia stories is interesting.

4 years ago AirAsia hedges their jet fuel. Using Singapore Jet Kerosene if not mistaken. When the price goes down, they hedge even more.

Now firesale leasing business. Probably announce special dividend next.
*
Definitely their story is very 'interesting' (i think that's being polite. hehe. tongue.gif)

How do you even start? And the holding company is not even listed, yes?
And with so many subsidies and sub-subsidies and inter-related companies...
I also dunno how to account what is happening already..... *rolleyes rollhead*

Hedging... that was classic yes? They hedged their jet fuel all the way down US90, yes?
Bet all the way down woh..............
Down more hedge more............... *rolleyes five times * *hehe*

Now here is the biggest rolleyes issue....

all these years... since listing...
compare AirAsia core net operating profit/loss VS their *hedging losses-gain/forex losses-gain/currency swap losses-gain*..

just compare .....
look at those 2 figures comparison...... *rolleyes ten times*

with such numbers.... how does one want to value this stock?
Base on core net profit?
or base on AirAsia's hedging skills?

just my flawed tiga sen opinion lah....
if wrong.... wrong loh..... sweat.gif
