Oh I do understand where that 10% came from. I feel 5% would give one an alternative value .... one which is not as optimistic as a 10% over 5 years.

Yup.. you’re right..

Tbh these calculations are rather personal to me, anyone else doing it would derive a different number. For this reason, initially I wanted to pm statikinetic instead of posting it publicly but at the end gave in due to technical reason laugh.gif

At the end of the day, the intrinsic value one get may well be used as a tool for self-comforting purpose only.. because if the market doesn’t agree with you..man it’s an endless waiting game..

Borrowing a quote from John Maynard Keynes: “the market can remain irrational longer than you stay solvent.” tongue.gif

That's right. Which makes me wonder in a stock forum, what the demographic around these parts. Thought that'll be a good discussion ball to roll around for a bit. I'm about 30% in, which might go lower in time.

I’m about 30% in stocks (only bursa) as well, the rest are in EPF, FD and cash.

FD will mature soon, I’ll most likely deploy them into the stock market, looking to step foot into NYSE biggrin.gif

I’m quite certain my investment will mostly be in stocks in the future as well...have no interest in real estate, unit trust funds..gold...crypto..

Currently stuck in dilemma whether to use TD Ameritrade or Etoro.

My TD acc is in the application process...but it’s really tedious..I foresee it will take another few months for approval..am losing patient already..

Are you in the US stock market?

If you are evaluating Scientex by any chance, huge amount of insider buying took place today. Otherwise can ignore this piece of news.

Thanks for informing me statikinetic

I shall take these few days to go through their annual reports, barring any unforeseen circumstances, I might pull the trigger if price not going any lower icon_rolleyes.gif

Mind sharing with us how much in percentage of Scientex you hold in your portfolio?

On the side note, I came across dividendmagic’s Scientex total investment cost vs current share value..it makes me feel I’m little behind the journey sweat.gif

Well, better to feel a little behind compared to never to have found!

Scientex is about 10% of my holdings. If you look at the past 10 years, been solid growth in the same trajectory as QL. Of course, past performance is not indicative of future performance and all that. It is one of the few stocks that can exist in the same sentence as "capital appreciation" and "dividend".

The big insider buying suggests that the price may be near bottom at this point.
*
Today it dipped down to 3.95, that would be 11.85 pre bonus, my 6th sense tells me it’s fairly valued tongue.gif seems like there’s some homework to do this weekend..

Speaking of QL, it occupies approx. 12% of my stock portfolio, I’m not adding anymore position as it defies some of the quantitative metrics in my book, but I do not want to miss out such a solid company too..so there’s that smile.gif

If you bought it, I hope you secured an entry position below 4.00 yesterday.
Scientex looks to be on the move.

Unfortunately I did not get onboard, as I was busy during the day.

When I had time to sit, the counter has taken off. No excuse though, I would have to bite my teeth now. smile.gif

I think tech sector in bursa has reach it's peak based on today movement

I think only. No rewards by guessing correct or wrong laugh.gif

It’s been rising for so long already, time for correction.

Many people have been buying into the sector based on “promised” return and future demand. Anything that is “tech” related gets pushed for no reason lol. So margin of safety is really small. Any QR that doesn’t deliver up to expectation will cause a drop in share price...by right la.. tongue.gif
