Just some extra information abt the movie.
Are there any differences between the movie story and the real story? Here's a few:
The Dean Witter internship wasn't unsalaried, but had a $1,000/mo. stipend.
The internship lasted 10 months, not 6.
Chris Jr. was 18 months old, not preschool aged, when his mother left him with his father.
They were not rejected from a women's shelter; Glide Memorial, where they stayed in the movie and in real life, was a single mothers' shelter at the time.
He did not have to work short hours; in fact he started early and stayed late.
He was a bone scanner salesman, but not self-invested; he quit the job before taking the internship.
Who is the "Rich" in his later firm Gardner Rich? Gardner added it himself, in honor of succesful broker Marc Rich, who was not involved in Gardner's company.

just watched the movie i bought from amazon. did anyone at imdb ever mentioned that this movie is a rip-off from an old italian movie, Ladri Di Biciclette (1947)?? ive noticed a lot of similarities; father and son, mother working at laundry shop, the father's important stuff for his job, the restaurant scene, pawn shop scene.. id say this movie is more like a remake. fine shit though.

The Chris Gardner story exaggerated. Works for me though. Some really nice scenes and motivational quotes from the movie. Love the basketball court, subway and the queuing up scenes.

it is not about touching in my view. It is bout Brave to pursuit ur dream job. Yet is touching to see how Wills went thru the test.
Remember tos words Wills spoke out while playing basketball wif his son. Tos are the tag lines is important to change's one's life forever or never.
Very well-directed movie. It shows us so many blocks & tough times to being a great man. Should be a school educational material.. I wonder how many ppl can be so tough like him in these century now.
I was hoping he won best male actor wif this movie. It shows a different acting from Wills. Absolutely great motivation movie for everyone.
