for PS4, sony malaysia take charge and handle the distribution. that's why when it was released price was controlled - as in, no major difference between here vs US.

for Nintendo, an a-hole singapork company named maxsoft got full exclusive distribution rights for SEA region. so they can change whatever price they want. and they can impose whatever rules they want, like if you want "official" switch, must buy with zelda AND that stupid cow milking game, whatever that name is.

when you have problems at launch, like these ones, with sony you just hantar balik sony center la. but with nintendo, you'd need to send it back to your shop and HOPE they have a good relationship with maxsoft and HOPE that maxsoft doesn't need to wait for a lot of other problematic units before shipping all back to japan. if they feel like need to group together 20000 units before shipping back..... padan muka la who ask you to supork nintendo in malaysia lel

i think not only Nintendo, MS also the same. I've got inside story, seems like some people in MS Malaysia did raised the prospect of bringing XBox to Malaysia, but was faced with a challenge to equal or beat Singapork sales, so, nobody got bola and that's the end of it.
