Hello, I am confused between these 2 GPU, as from what I saw on the internet shows that the RX 470 4GB is a better buy due to the cheaper price. However in Malaysia, both of these cards have the very similar price with GTX 1060 3 GB outperforms the RX 470 4 GB by a considerable margin.
So my question here, which GPU should I buy to pair with a G4560? I've seen some videos/benchmarks showing G4560+1060 3GB is better than G4560+Rx 470 4 GB, however in the rig suggestion thread, people often recommend a RX 470 4GB over 1060 3 GB....
Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Palit & Zotac branded GTX1060 3GB is cheaper than Sapphire branded RX470 4GB, it depends on which games you play (some favor Nvidia, some favor AMD) and there is an upcoming so-called "DX12" game ready driver from Nvidia soon to improve GTX10 series GPU performance on DX12 titles, so maybe wait and see how's the improvement on GTX1060 3GB before making the final decision, shall we?

Even before this umm soon to come driver, GTX 1060 3GB already outperforms RX 470 4GB.... And the difference are quite significant considering they have very similar price range. I know RX 470 is better in some titles but generally, the 1060 is a better GPU.... Thanks for you reply

I thought Goldfries tested both cards recently and found they both perform similarly if not the 1060 3Gb have slight edges in couple of games?

I'm still waiting for 3GB model to reach me. So difficult to get. I have GTX 1060 6GB, and if estimate the 3GB is 10% behind that of the 3GB then the RX 470 can out perform it in quite a number of titles. They exchange blows. Also at RM 1,000 and below, a GTX 1060 3GB usually with 1 fan cooler and quite noisy, except for the Palit model. RX 470 on the other hand at RM 949 there's the Gigabyte G1 Gaming model. Give you nice cooler, nice backplate and LED lights.

QUOTE(sniperz @ Mar 6 2017, 01:01 PM) Proven in benchmark that neither complex nor vram intensive. But if the price is similar and the game you play is mostly MOBAs/MMOs then 1060 is a good pick imo. Don't forget the FreeSync and G-SYNC
If you ever consider buying gaming monitor but budget limited, you might want to get the RX470 instead coz FreeSync monitor is cheaper than G-Sync monitor.

I went and search on this model but unfortunately very very little information about this card is available.... Even the Zotac official page also only got the mini version no 3GB AMP! edition, it's almost as if this card is a fake haha. The RX 470 4GB however, I am looking at the sapphire card instead.... More recommendations and more widely used.... What do you think? I watch quite some videos on 1060 3GB vs RX 470 4GB and most of them also show that 1060 is the better choice. Maybe I can send a link of one of these videos here? Thanks for your reply This post has been edited by RM50infrontofme: Mar 7 2017, 09:24 PM

I'm building at a small budget so I think a cheap monitor should do unless there is any FreeSync monitor under RM 500 that you can recommend? If there is then I would be leaning towards the rx 470 haha. Thanks for your reply.

QUOTE(ChongHan90 @ Mar 10 2017, 12:24 PM) Do you have any recommendation for below 1k graphic card? Power colour good? Just go with 1060 with the pricing that you can afford. Maybe look for secondhand, since your in a tight budget. Settings for AAA title games will be mid to high with average 60fps in 1080p (based on GTX 970 4gb that I owned). Try doing some research before you buy though. This post has been edited by youngy: Mar 10 2017, 11:44 AM

Thanks for your reply. you can get LG 23MP68VQ which is an IPS 23" monitor with freesync capability at less than RM550. 60hz fixed rate, and up to 75hz with freesync. there is also a 24" version which is the 24MP68VQ which can be obtained less than RM600.
