Some FAQ on MRT fares

Q:Looking at the table, how is possible that the further one travels, the fare charges are lesser compared with nearer stations?

A:In addition to the nominal flag fall and the nominal fee for the Transit Acquirer System (TAS), fare is calculated based on the distance travelled and cascading rates based on blocks of four or five kilometres travelled. The unit rate/km for shorter distance is relatively higher rates compared with the unit rate/km for further distance travelled.
For example, the cash fare between Sungai Buloh and Bandar Utama which is 13.33 kilometres away is calculated based on the following:
Flag fall (RM0.70) + TAS (RM0.20) + (Distance of 13.33 km x base unit rate of RM0.22/km) = RM3.80. The calculation of the cash fare between Sungai Buloh and TTDI, which is further away than Bandar Utama, but has crossed over to a lower block of unit rate/km, would result in a relative lower fare as below:
Flag fall (RM0.70) + TAS (RM0.20) + (15.17km x base unit rate of RM0.18/km) = RM3.70.
This explain why we only need to pay RM3.20 from Bukit Duking to Pusat Bandar Damansara while Batu 11 Cheras & BTHO need to pay RM3.80 & RM3.70 even though they are closer.  



Q:Is there a minimum fare charged when entering and exiting at the same station?
A:Yes, the minimum fare of RM0.80 is charged when you enter and exit the same station.

Q:Do we need to maintain the minimum store value balance when using the cashless payment on MRT?
A:Customers must maintain a minimum stored value balance of RM3.00 when using the cashless payment on MRT.

yes， you can use touch and Go... But you won't have discount for rapudkl though

Not sure how long it will take, anyway by taking MRT may save on motor vehicle running expenses (petrol, toll and parking)+ release from tension struck in the jam.
Since 1st month is free, no harm trying. After that up to individual to choose, more choice is better than no choice.

7.22am Reached MRT Bukit Dukung
7.25am-8.20am MRT Train,  MRT fare RM1.60!
Everything fine till now
BUT

8.25 am  Missed the feeder bus while walking to the bus station at Pusat Bandar Damansara, blocking by the fence
8.38 am  Another bus came but put on NOT IN SERVICE

Checked with bus driver, only 3 buses serving my office areas in Sri Hartamas
8.48am Bus moved
9.02am Reached Sri Hartamas

It took almost 2 hours, normal driving time about 1 hours plus.

Save on petrol, toll, parking, stress trap inside the jam, anyway since all expenses are paid by the company not so attractive for me to take MRT to work consistently.
Anyway it still worthwhile for those not paid by the company for saving in motor vehicle running expenses.

Prepare to wake up earlier to avoid late in reporting to work.

How about feeder bus waiting time to Sri Raya MRT station?

better park at BTHO station...how much is the parking fee?

Not sure got inner road or not but no matter what need to go through Grand Saga Highway even there is inner road I suppose, try to check with the driver when I come back in the evening on parking & inner road stuff especially u-turn, Kajang interchange a bit far..

I think MRT BD also open air parking
