hehe, I'll test out Unifi 10 after the upgrade.
Currently VIP5 is sufficient for me.
*
u still retain old speed?

QUOTE(cfa28 @ Mar 6 2017, 03:58 PM)
Yes, the 5 ghz offers faster speed, can reach almost max of 50 DL / 20 UL

But signal might not be as strong as the 2.4 GHZ.

sometimes in toilet, the 5 ghz only 1 bar but the 2.4 ghz still full bar

But the 2.4 ghz can still reach sometimes up to 40DL and 20 UL

All this based on 1 day of usage only.
*
its common wifi characteristic....

higher band signal able to carry data at higher speed....but the signal wavelength is shorter...hence shorter wifi signal distance.....

unless your router have removable antenna, u can install higher gain antenna to recover the distance loss....

Don't get you on u still retain old speed?.
Currently still on VIP5, waiting to be upgraded to Unifi 10.
Yeah, I know.
I am using the internet alone most of the time. Not sure if spending the extra RM30 a month will satisfy me.
Moreover, Advance30/50 got no more free calls to TM numbers.
*
i forgot already since when tm offer me free upgrade from vip5 to unifi10 last time.....more than a year if not mistaken...

so any reason why u still maintain vip5?

and latest now my 2nd line is automatically unifi30 at 2nd house...

Thanks for dashing my hope further... If it is not ready yet, I doubt the agents will be so hardworking to go one house by one house to collect registration. hmm.gif
Let's see...
*
if agents roaming around collecting registeration, expect installation in your house within 1-2 months time frame....

it cuming

Just a quick question. I recently got unifi at my house. After the contractor install everything, i realize there are 2 signal, eg. (A) lowyat (B) lowyat_5G.

I did asked them, which to use, they told me the one without 5G.

I was wondering why 2? and what is that _5G is for? are they the same?
*
its normal 2.4ghz wifi signal

and the other one is high speed 5ghz wifi signal... for best media streaming/downloading speed... use the 5ghz signal if your device able to "see" the wifi signal...

because not all device able to see that....due to different wifi chip...

how to check?

if a device stated b/g/n wifi chip... it wont see the 5ghz wifi signal...

but if the device is equipped with a/ac chip or carrying dualband wifi chip name.....its definately capable to see and communicate to the 5ghz wifi signal....

but...as the speed is higher, there is a trade off... mainly is the wifi range were dropped....

example is like the router is in your living room, so if u were connecting the 5ghz wifi from back of your house outside the kitchen, mostlikely the signal is dropping to just a few bar or disconnected at all....where your normal 2.4ghz wifi will be still at full bar signal reception at the same distance....

That's not quite true. There're many devices which doesn't have AC but will support N at 5GHz.
*
N will only see if it was dualband capable....

which is mostly on higher end device....

No issue for me in PJ, I'm using 50M by myself. tongue.gif
It's just when I go to my sister's house every two weeks, that's where frustration kicks in. I rather use my own Celcom or Digi which have 4G+ in her house. After all, I have 26GB of combined quota which I hardly use even half of it. laugh.gif If finish, then just buy quota and it is paid by company. tongue.gif
*
yeah..mobile data plan nowadays also not bad...

10gb for me from redone also not fully used every month... laugh.gif

I did further checking on port 1050 on the TRG212M. It's a web server running on port 1050. Very interesting.

118.100.67.125 is a random TRG212M I found on the internet. Can't login, known operator and admin passwords do not work.

CODE
$ telnet 118.100.67.125 1050

Personally I haven't seen any C7s in the wild for either home or biz users. This is what I've observed around my area.

Unifibiz100 (3): C5, 850L, RGX4400
Unifibiz30 (4): C5, 850L (2), RGX4400
Unifi30 (3): RGX4400 (3)

which one is superior?

maybe u can arrange it from lowest spec to highest spec?

Yep, all 3 are dual band. I've read reports of the 850L having not-so-good wifi. Could be due to low transmit power or antenna sensitivity. I can't say since I don't use one regularly.
*
im on 850L...

mainly due to no antenna design (built-in antenna)

but i like the design fit as decoration on tv cabinet... haha

I think they will only give you C1200. Because C7 is still new. Not many installers have it on their hand. Unless you got request then only they will go to warehouse and take.
*
or just the mere basic 850L like me yawn.gif

You can choose to not to accept it and don't sign the paper. Because if you don't sign it, they cannot balik.
*
because i'm not aware of the router available option earlier.....

unlike my first unifi subscription (vip5 1st batch) last time they were specific on the device...no other option....

only recently i've noticed that other unifi user getting different router.... doh.gif
